Families: A lift-the-flap board book about families (Find Out About)

Great book which is well ilustrated and show all the different families there are in our world. Teach children about differences and teach them to respect it.

Book come packed lovely. The book is bright and colourful and is brilliant to teach children about the different types of families. I bought this book for children in my class as we discover things about themselves. This is just brilliant to aid in doing that

Nice book which supports children in learning about their family, was brought for nursery use.

The pictures and diversity in the book are lovely but I am disappointed it doesn’t cover single mothers. None of the children in the book were conceived by donors and live with just their mum and half siblings. It covers step families, foster families, children who live with grandparents, children who live with just dad and children who have 2 mummies, but nothing about single mums or donor conception. It’s still a lovely book and some of the pictures show just a mum and children, but I do feel a massive category was missed out there

Hammers it home that all families are different. The toddlers seem to love it. I even catch them trying to lift the flaps on their own!

Have got most of these now and they’re great at teaching youngsters about different cultures
