Great tool.
This is a very compact yet powerful saw. Good quality tool that works well in close quarters and precision cuts.

Simple, portable saw; Not the most powerful, but great for basic work.
I own a couple of the B&D 20v tools, so I decided to add this to my inventory. Overall, it's a good little saw.I used this for a couple small projects, including cutting a 1 1/2 thick worksurface in half to make a small 2 level workbench. The saw struggled if I pushed it to fast, but it cut through the material cleanly and quickly. I've also had to cut down a few 2x2 posts for newly planted trees, again - it got the job done. The portability of the saw makes it very versatile for completing these quick one-off tasks. The design of the saw (handles, weight, and operation) are very comfortable. It's not overly heavy but still feels solid.Battery life is what you'd expect for a high-draw application like this. I have not yet run the battery down while using it, keeping in mind that I'm using this saw for smaller, quick finish projects.I like the functionality that the saw provides with the ability to adjust the cut depth and angle, along with not having to work around a cord. This saw will not replace the traditional electric saw for heavy workloads, but it will definitely keep your projects moving forward. If you don't already have one, buy an extra battery or two. The standard 1.5AH battery drains pretty quickly.

Great Saw except for blade installation
The price is great the saw works well. It has good safety additions, two hand hold, instant blade stop when releasing the trigger etc. However changing the saw blade is aggravating,Installing the blade is difficult because it just doesn't just slide in you need to force it in a bit without being injured from the blades. There is a good short video on YouTube that shows someone installing the blade. The bolt has directions for tightening "stamp on it" which is in the opposite direction you normally tighten an loosen most nuts. Note this is the opposite direction in which the saw blade rotates. If the blade starts to stall the nut may not be tight enough. The supplied manual directions on removing and installing the blade are next to useless.Since the saw blade that comes with it has only 12 teeth it doesn't give a very smooth cut. I like others have change saw blade to a 36 tooth blade. The blade that ships with the saw has a 3/8 arbor and it has blade direction opposite of normal saw blade direction. The new blade I purchased has a 5/8 to 3/8 bushing adapter. You need to match the arrows of the blade in the same direction which is marked on the chain saw guard. You may need to turn over the blade which puts the label inside,or hidden because it will be the only way which will match the circular saw blade direction. The good news is this the best your going to find. More powerful and you will go through batteries quickly like the Rockwell. I have a 4amp battery that works great. Smaller ones will work also but not as well. This goes for most compact circular saws.I don't believe this is for the professional but Black and Decker is know for reliable tools that are used around the house. I am thankful I can get a saw so cheap. I have several.

Gem of a battery powered saw!
OK, disclaimer -- this is the first circular saw I've owned -- but it far exceeded my expectations, both in performance and quality! I've borrowed and used other saws, so not a complete neophyte. This saw is light, maneuverable, and makes accurate, clean cuts. The standard blades has held up well cutting a variety of treated lumber (2x4, 2x6, 2x8, 4x4, 1x5, and more) over the course of building a 10x14' deck, resurfacing a 3x20' walkway, and building a 6' bench. The adjustable depth and angled bevel features came in handy multiple times. And the best surprise was the battery life -- a 2 AH battery lasted all day for me! Recharge it overnight and it's ready to go the next morning.I initially bought this B&D circular saw because I had a weed eater of the same brand that used the same 20V battery, but given my experience, I'd buy it on its own merits! I now own a B&D cordless drill as well as this saw and the previously mentioned weed whacker and have been more than pleased with the performance of all three!I'm not a professional and don't use these tools on an everyday basis, but if you're a weekend projects person, I highly recommend the B&D 20V line of tools. From my research, these are about half the price of Makita, Dewalt, Craftsman, Ryobi, and the like.

Comfortable to use
Very handy size saw. I don’t have to get the big corded one out for simple projects. Cuts very well. Sturdy and useful.

Ease of Use, Light Weight
Had a repair project on hold until I could get a new circular saw. Decided on the B&D 20v for a couple reasons; Have B&D tools and batteries already and since I only use or need a saw on some occasions. As soon as it arrived, I put it together. The blade went in easy. Only set back was getting the allen screw loose as it would turn the motor and not come loose. A pair of pliers to hold the washers was enough to loosen the allen. Then I found the thumb blade lock in between the blade housing and hand grip. Push down and hold to keep the blade shaft from moving. Guess should have read the instructions!I needed a couple of 2”x10” boards cut. I first used a 2amp battery and the saw stopped and seemed like it was lacking torque. I changed the battery to a 6amp one and the saw breezed through the 10” cedar boards. Made two cuts and still had battery power. So, if possible use a higher amp battery. Very pleased with no cord and can use this saw in remote areas. Recommended buy.

Solid Saw for Light to Medium Jobs
This saw gets the job done for most household projects—it's lightweight, cordless, and easy to control. Blade changes are super simple, and the battery life is decent, though I wish it came with a second battery.
