## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great versatile sunglasses.
*by V***P on 18 April 2019*

I bought these to replace an identical pair that I dropped a long long way in a waterfall. These came with a smaller case which is useful but not as rugged as the much larger case my original pair came with. The removable temple pieces, lanyard and variable polarized lenses mean they are very versatile going up to Cat 4 for high mountains and down to Cat 2 which means you can drive in them. Like all polarized lenses most modern car TFT displays and HUD can be a problem so that is something to bear in mind. They are tough, relatively easy to clean and don't fog. (They have tiny slits as well as coatings that seem to really help). I also find them incredibly comfortable to wear and easy to adjust. In all the only pair of active sunglasses you should need, if they fit you and if you don't lose them!!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth the money 😊
*by N***B on 4 April 2015*

Fantastic sunglasses. Grip well and securely to the face - ideal for cycling and fell walking. The included strap is really handy when out and about as these glasses will be in use a lot and I don't want to risk them in my pocket, also helps ensure you do 't leave them on a rock somewhere. The magnetic side fittings will be useful on very sunny days.Visibility is super and the photochromic lenses make tgem very versatile. Oh, they look good too.

### ⭐⭐⭐ I really wanted to like these glasses
*by P***C on 10 August 2017*

I really wanted to like these glasses. Im the kind of a person that wont buy on impulse and will research various types before i settle on one. The brand and the style of glass are it seems always well reviewed, however as much as i wanted to like these, there are so many little annoying things that just bug me for the price I paid.To start, my cap size is 58/59cm and i measured my head again to be sure. The Julbo site recommended Size Large. So to begin, the cons:The Cons:1) Most sites and Amazon included do not provide a clear sizing guide. Some listing on Amazon say One Size (like whats that even mean?) or Size large. The fit is tight. Its not clear should it tight on the sides, given the idea is to keep out stray rays. With the side shields on, its a tad bit tighter. Julbo recommends this size for most.2) Most sites I reviewed speak of this oversized protective case. Celebrity climbers reviewing suggest its too big to pack - Im ok with that, but you know what, I didnt get that big protective case, hell I didn't even get what you would consider a case never mind protective. I got something like a black sock/condom sized sleeve with a zip, thats incredibly poor fitting and difficult to get the glasses in. As for protection, the glasses will be crushed with any pressure due to the stupid case design. Looks less than cheap. Im a conspiracy theorist so i think a) the big case is for celebrity reviews only, b) Amazons buying power dictates a smaller case for their stock so as to reduce the parcel size cost to them (has been know to happen) c) after the celebrities moaned about having to break the handle of their toothbrush instead to reduce weight to accommodate the case, Julbo conformed and reduced the size.3) The curve/dip in the frame lets in light with head on sun and is annoying and a design flaw.4) Despite what celebrity climbers say, the brown tint i find does not enhance the landscape, it does in fact make everything brown/sepia toned. I wore for hours and my eyes still see brown.5) The brown tint makes it impossible to distinguish Dog Poo from earth - trust me, these have been tested in real life situations.6) Shadow and shade plays havoc with the lens and clarity.7) The world looks eternally overcast and depressing even at Cat2.8) As I mentioned the gap over the nose before, and to stop the glasses from constantly slipping as you hike, I like to cinch up the lanyward for a snug fit. However as you do that, the frame is flexible and tends to pinch my cheeks.9) Maybe its just me but wearing all day on a hike I felt it was like looking through a welding mask.10) When cinched up at the back, it felt like horses winkers, even though my side vision wasnt impaired with the side shields, the frame was always in my vision, kinda like WW1 Bibplane pilot googles or looking through binoculars feel.11) Overrated and overpriced – then again, maybe its all about the lense. The Pros:1) I drove on a wet road after a sun-shower with the sun full frontal. It really cuts glare and takes the strain from your eyes.2) I dont notice the chromatic lense changing – which is possibly a sign of a good system, however the polarised element is great fro cutting glare off water. Just looking into my simple fish pond, with, I can see all the fish and to the bottom, without, I only see white glare from the clouds reflecting.3) Side shields are great for preventing side glare and dont hinder side vision. To sum up. There are similar less expensive alternatives out there. Are you paying for a brand or product? I think a brand. Would it have killed Julbo and Amazon to provide better sizing and more details? Possibly as neither care to reply or elaborate. Would it also have killed them to tell you exactly what was in the box, ie small case or big case? While the case might not matter to some it matters and influenced my decisions.
