The "piano like" adjective I've seen said about the 60's era Strat pickups is fitting here. The attack profile is sudden and loud. There's lots of lingering bass, and mid/high response that you can't escape from. This pickup is probably perfect for a guitarist who wants to stand out in a crowded mix, or who plays very assertively, but it's almost too ball's out for a mellow three piece, or solo playing. More in-your-face than might be desired in an intimate context. Where as other pickups have a personalities of their own, this one has every personality all at once, it's more like a tonal party than a quiet one on one chat.I have to rate it 5 stars because it's exceptionally good at what it does, even if it's not necessarily what I go for. One nice thing about a pickup as broad and full spectrum as this one is that you don't have to mess with the EQ on your amp as much to slot yourself into the mix. Since the pickup is loudly delivering such a broad spectrum of frequencies to begin with, there's less of need to add or subtract anything,.
