Nit Free Mousse 4oz

My daughter has long, thick, red hair. She had lice so bad that they were coming out in her fingernails when she scratched her head. I was so disgusted and ready to take her to a place that specializes in lice removal but the cost would have been close to $500. I tried several products before reading the reviews of this on Amazon. I honestly cannot believe how well this product worked for her and it's non toxic. I did rinse a conditioner through her hair before using the product because her hair was just too tangled to get the comb through otherwise. I also had better luck using a good metal comb than the comb that comes with the product. I left the product in for the desired time and was amazed to see the lice dead and the nits coming out so easily. I was so impressed that I bought extra bottles to have on hand in case we need it again. It would be great for schools to recommend this product and it's reasonably priced too.

Having fought lice with my kids before, I can honestly say this product is on par with other over-the-counter treatments, such as Rid or Nix. It seems to get the job done as effectively as these two products without the harsh smell or chemicals.That being said, this product isn't a one-time fix all. Just like with any of these products, I've found the only way to get rid of the lice for good is patience and persistence. The terminator comb is helpful, but it really isn't any different than those given with Nix and Rid, it's just a different shape. To get rid of the lice completely, you must go through the hair with a bright light (bright sunlight works well) 1/4 inch at a time to remove every single nit. If you kill all the live lice and you leave even one nit behind (this product did not get rid of all the nits the first time through) it will hatch and you will have live lice again.Don't count on this product and comb to get rid of the nits completely. As with any lice removing product, you still must 'nit pick', continue to comb through the hair daily and retreat in seven days. With kids with long hair, I've found that treatments must be repeated every seven days for three to four weeks, with daily comb throughs, washing linens and towels in hot water, lots of vacuuming, and going through the hair thoroughly every few days. It's a major pain, but if you are persistent, it works.All that said, I would definitely use this product again as it does equally as good a job as Nix or Rid. I feel much better about putting this product on my kid's heads than the those with the strong odor and harsh chemicals that can easily fry the scalp.There is enough product in one bottle to treat two heads of medium to long hair one time, which makes this product cost effective. Four stars.

This is my second time with lice. First with my son and now with my daughter. This time I was armed and dangerous and after 2 days I think we have everything under control. Mousse is good. Kids love it because it foams up. You put it in for 5 minutes but they can walk around and it won't drip out. Use the Terminator comb to comb through. After you have finished everything and the hair is DRY...use the Robi comb so make sure there are no eggs/lice still present.I totally freaked out the first time. This time I felt better because I had everything I needed. I recommend getting a comb for each kid and a robi comb for each kid as well. It's just easier and then you won't have to worry about contaminating the other kids.

I love this product. I have found the mousse to be the best. It the only thing that works very effectively every single time! It works like magic and pulls out all the nits? Make sure you also get the long NIT comb to use with it, and your almost guaranteed to be rid of those nasty parasites!

Okay, you HAVE to comb out the nits and lice with this product. It's labor intensive and not particularly fun. But this stuff definitely loosens the glue or whatever it is that attaches the eggs (nits) to the hair shaft. Follow the directions (be sure to comb each section of hair four directions), do it again five days later, and you should be home free. So: you can nuke the lice with one of the (Rid) pesticides you find over the counter and then discover that most headlice are now resistant to those products, or you can suck it up and do it right with NitFree and a good comb. I did four kids in one day, so you've probably got it easier than that. Make sure you vacuum things, run the pillows and blankets and toys through a HOT dryer, wash the sheets, etc. The Terminator comb is the best one I've used, and I think the same company makes that.

Our family got hit with lice, and by the time we figured it out, most of us had it, and all of us had nits (eggs). We bought all kinds of products that kill the lice, and found that it's fairly easy. However, the tough part is getting rid of the nits before they hatch. Nothing worked, until we found this product. Granted, it took a couple of treatments, but the treatments are so easy - it was kind of fun!!! This is a great product!

I have been battling with lice for almost one year. (I'm sure we had the pesticide resistant lice that everyone is now talking about) My two girls HATE having their hair combed EVERY NIGHT!!! This product was the ONE that FINALLY worked! I did a treatment and though after I did rinse out the product my three year old had only 3 nits, yes 3!!! I was so happy! The three nits came out so easily. With regular shampoos and other lice treatments you have to work to get those nits out. I've had to cut individual strands of hair out with other products. I would be more than happy to use this product again if needed, but so far, so good!!! And trust me, I would know. I've tried everything from lice shampoos to new rx products to mayonaisse (I couldn't eat sandwiches for weeks)...this is the only product that didn't stink and that was actually successful! Thank goodness for this product!!!!

This stuff does kill lice and interrupt egg hatching. It doesn't smell great but it does the job without poisons..... It can also be used once a week for prevention......
