A well designed kite - from a company that is passionate about their product.
This kite was our first dual-line parafoil that we purchased. _Expectations: The tantrum 250 was chosen based on the experience of flying a friend's Prism Synapse as well as the solid positive reviews that we read through. _The Product: The kite, complete with low-stretch Dyneema lines was a really well designed product. I did not find anything that fell short of the description and in addition to that, I was particularly pleased with the bridle lines which resisted tangling and the overall construction which really gave me confidence in the claim of the ability to survive hard landings. Finally, when rolled up into it's bag it makes for a surprisingly tight package that's easy to find a storage place for (on a shelf, in the rafters, hung up with the coats, etc.) -Flight: It's an arm-stretcher - even in a moderate breeze. The control bar makes it easier to work with under stronger winds. We also switched the control bar out (easily) with some home-made wrist straps for lighter breezes. As it says in the description, the 250 is a big kite with real pull, but not as quick and snappy as a stunt kite. We had a number of hard landings on grass as we were getting to know it, but each time recovered easily without damage or tangling. (I did buy some patching tape just in case.) Over all, it's a really, really fun kite and a reminder that in a contest with the wind - the wind can easily win. - The Company: I think in any case I'd give this kite a solid 5 stars. It exceeded my expectations. But what I also want to acknowledge is an exceptional customer service experience I had with the people at Prism. Not only were they outstandingly helpful and positive, but I also experienced the enthusiasm and passion they have around what they do. That can be as important as the quality of the product itself.

Great two-line kite that will put a grin on your face
This is my second parafoil kite and it’s a great kite to bring with me every where I go. The kite pulls very hard and has a wide enough wind range to fly at almost any time. I weigh in the ball park of about 155lbs. In 20-25mph winds, I’ll lie on my stomach and the kite will drag me across the ground about 10-14 feet each pass through the high power zone. While on my feet I’m able to jump about the same distance forward. Jumping up is a bit difficult because the sail is not quite large enough to fall back down slow enough. It is possible however. This kite is quite the work out. I flew the kite all day in 15-25mph winds and the next day I was so sore that I was moving old man speed. In light winds (8-12mph) is probably the best for this kite because it won’t leave you bed locked the next day. This kite leaves a wide grin on my face every time I fly it. I without a doubt recommend this kite to anyone who is looking to get into kiting. There is one thing that could be a negative, however, it’s understandable. That is the durability, if you fly the kite correctly, it will last years. Avoid making the kite hit the ground leading edge first at full speed. Upon impact the internal pressure of the sail will increase exponentially and will make the sail tear after repeated collisions with the ground. So I highly recommend that you get used to the kite in light winds before testing your limits. My final thoughts are 10/10. A helpful hint: if you are flying alone, stake the control bar to the ground and set the kite in an L shape where there is tension on the lines and the first 1/3 of the sail is sticking up while the last 2/3 is on the ground. This will make launching very easy if you don’t have access to sand.

Flawless out of the box
The kite came already assembled and ready to fly. This was my first parafoil kite purchase and it was so easy to learn. BUT I do come from a jumping background, so the science of how parachutes fly is an easy concept for me to understand. The first day I flew the kite was in 25mph winds and let me tell you, this thing has some pull to it. It practically drug me through the yard. I own 6 acres, so I have plenty of room to fly and I needed every acre. I also flew the kite in 10mph winds and it flew perfect. The only issue I had was flying it on a day with variable wind directions. I found myself chasing the wind bubble quite a bit but that seems pretty normal and no fault of the kite. While I do enjoy this purchase because of the absolute power it has, I also purchase two Prism Synapse 120 kites for my girls. I actually enjoy flying those more than the larger one. They are really zippy in the air and loads of fun. Great purchase across the board. Can't go wrong with Prism!

heaps of fun
I hadn't even thought about writing about the durability. but yeah I crashed it into a pipe rack out behind my warehouse today and it was no worse for wear. as far as tensile strength, it dragged my 245 pound butt across the gravel today in 19 (gusting) mph winds. it's got some strong pull, it's super easy to handle, pretty forgiving in rough turbulent winds too. I started out with the prism synapse 1.6m kite and then moved to this one, and it's similar to fly, but different to handle with the control bar. not any harder, just a little different to get used to. I encourage this kite, you can fly as calmly as your like, or as aggressively and wildly as I do lol. watch out for overhead lines too...I had to ditch it into the street as I was crossing from the east park, across a crosswalk to the west because I didn't see the overhead lines behind me until my GF said "look out for the wires". so I crashed into the pavement and picked it up - in traffic - and walked it into the park.

Best Power Kite Brand
Best brand in the business! Very powerful, strongly built, and great control. I buy all my kites from them.

Great starter
Definitely fun though 20 mph wind wanted to lift me off the ground.

Great Exercise!
This kite is similar to the Prism Synapse series except that it has a stronger pull and employs a control bar instead of two handles. I prefer handles on my kites but the bar is good if you want to go out in strong winds and get dragged around. The kite is well made, easy to set up, and the colors look great in the sky. I fly it with the Prism 75 Tube Tail which gives it more stability, slows it down a bit, and makes for a more dramatic and satisfying experience. The end of the tail is green which matches the colors of this model. You can get a great workout with this kite. Check out my video here of the Prism Tantrum 250 with the Prism 75 foot Tube Tail (see my Amazon review for this too).

Awesome Kite
Perfect kite to train for kite surfing or to just have a powerful kite to fly. Nice quality, easy to fly, and so quick to go from in the bag to in the sky. Has very nice pull in decent wind and is very fast. I will absolutely buy more of their products.

Prism Tantrum 250
Brilliant kite. Soo much fun. Easy to fly in light winds, but be careful in moderate to strong winds as can easily pull you down !. I fly with the seperate prism 75 foot tube tail and get so many positive comments from passers by. Easy to unpack and pack away. This kite comes with the extra strong lines that do not stretch and is very easy to control with the bar. I spent a long time researching different brands but very pleased I purchased this one.

A great kite and a ton of fun!
You may need a 2nd person to get it to take off sometimes, and once it gets wet, or with sand inside it can be tricky to get clean and back in the air again! Even on days when it seems like there's enough wind there often isn't enough so bear that in mind! The angle of the wind is also important! You really need a big open area, but when it's going it is a lot of fun!
