It works
Everyone raves about the premixed products for patio cleaning. Well this works out significantly cheaper as a means of doing the job. Follow the instructions for the ratio of water required and safety. Make sure youโre wearing old clothes, gloves and protective eyewear. I mixed mine in a builders muck bucket and applied it to the patio with an old broom on a dry day. It dries in. And the sun and weather do the rest. My north facing, weedy and mossy patio is now considerably better than it was. I have to do more work to properly tidy it up. But as a low effort, starter for 10, this has been really good. The moss is dying, the weeds are unwell and the black staining on the paving is definitely lessening. It is effectively bleach, so donโt get it on flower beds and make sure you have shifted any garden furniture to where it canโt accidentally be splashed.

Cost-effective algae remover
This is the active ingredient in Patio Magic, which costs almost the same per 5L despite only containing ~7.5% benzalkonium chloride. Buying this concentrate is, therefore, significantly better value while enabling the user to mix a strength appropriate to their own needs. Just like Patio Magic, this stuff took the winter growth of green algae off my patio, fences and walls within a couple of days of application. This isn't the right stuff to kill moss, and it will struggle with algae on rougher and more porous surfaces.
