PERFECT story for back to school online learning!
I absolutely LOVED this story. It CLEARLY and SIMPLY explains what virtual learning is and has the CUTEST kid-friendly pictures to help children visualize what virtual learning will be like versus learning at school. She tells children how to prepare to help themselves be more organized and have a great online learning experience. The reminders are AWESOME! She also touches on the fact that not all online learning spaces will look the same, some may have to sit at a table, and that is fine. This book is filled with great information about online learning that is not only helpful for the student, but for the parent/caregiver reading it as well. As a teacher, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book be read to all of my students! You will not regret it! It is definitely a book you want in your collection!

A Must For Teachers Teaching Online
I absolutely LOVE this book. I read it to my first grade daughter. It was PERFECT, it hit all the points about making distance learning successful, covered everything. My daughter loved this book just like all the other books by this author. I can’t wait to read this to my first and second grade students! They’ll enjoy it just as much as my daughter! This is a must for the first week of school for elementary school teachers. There is NOTHING boring or bland about the book. Also this author writes and illustrates the books! I teach Gifted and Talented Students (GATE) and I’ve used a majority of her books to teach different topics: kindness, emotions, and staying home.

Perfect book to start the 20-21 school year!
My students and I love the spot series. We are able to talk through so many feelings and topics through these great picture books! This latest addition is the perfect start to our school year and is one that I will be sharing with my students as a tool to explain distance learning and my expectations for them. This book pairs perfectly with "A Little Spot Stays Home" which I shared with my students during the spring shut down. A BIG THANK YOU to the author for continuing to create amazing SEL books to help our students understand the world around them! Cannot wait to see what's next for the little spot :)

Awesome read for kids!
Love this book! Great tips and ideas for distance learning this year!I am a school counselor and I think this book is a fantastic way to teach all kids, especially K-2nd grade, what should be expected in most schools right now. I realize some schools may vary from exactly what is in this book, but it would be so easy to adapt and say, "at our school..." as you read the book to your kids. It is so kid friendly and SHOWS them examples of other kids. I LOVE it and highly recommend it for use with young readers!

Home Classroom Tips
While the prose is a little stilted, this is a great checklist for preparing for virtual school. It's useful for students, parents and teachers alike. Hard to believe we need reminders not to go to school in our pajamas, but there's always that one... This could be a pre-read or first day read aloud for the whole class, followed by a whole group recap (accompanied by some laughs).

A child’s guide
I love this book. While it may seem geared towards older children it can definitely help explain learning from home for the younger learners. My daughter will be doing preschool online with our school this year. This will help me explain how it will look and work. Having visuals to help show what to expect is great, especially in a format shes already familiar with. She is familiar with Diane’s books so she knows the characters already. Plus i do my college work online so she’ll be learning just like mommy!

1st Graders Loved it!
This is truthfully the 1st Spot Book I've read to my 1st grade students and I am so glad I discovered them! I read this book the first week of remote teaching and it was perfect. We were able to come up with our own online learning rules after! After this, I am proud to say I now own more Spot books and plan to use them in lessons, they are perfect too for SEL. Thanks for creating such great books Diane Alber!!!

A great way to set the stage for virtual school
My 6 years old Twins love this book. I bought it for them when they started remote Kindergarten in the beginning of the school year in 2020. I had already prepared them for online learning with virtual summer camp and crafts, however school is totally different. The school wanted them to be alone, paying attention and, most importantly, behaving like they were in a live classroom. This book, and SPOT, prepared them for that reality.
