No travel case with 60pack. A travel case came with the 36 pack.

Is this an alternative to the interdental brush?

I find the interdental brushes too harsh and these are a good alternative - being plastic, they are kinder on gums. I use these in conjunction with flossing cotton/tape.

Are these the same size as the brush ones (orange) as i cant get the other colours throgh my teeth?

Never used the brush ones but there is a size smaller than orange. It's pink.
