## Description

Gemma Jones once thought Sal Gabrini could be a keeper. He was, in truth, the man of her dreams. But after she didn’t hear from him when he had promised to stay in touch, she wasn’t thinking about him either. Even when she travels to his turf, to Seattle, to attend a stuffy lawyer’s convention, she’s bound and determined not to give Sal a second thought. The fact that she had refused his sexual advances probably had everything to do with why he didn’t follow up with her, and she understands that. But that understanding only makes her all the more determined to keep him at arm’s length. She might have been known for her slamming body, but that didn’t mean she wants the man of her dreams to only want her for that body. But the convention turns out to be so boring that Trina, her friend and business partner, encourages her to give the man a call. If nothing else he can show her the town and ramp down the boredom, her friend insists. So against her better judgment, Gemma phones him. When he doesn’t return her voice mail message later that night, she wants to kick herself for even bothering. Hunky businessman Sal Gabrini arrives back in town after a trip to Jersey. When he sees where the gorgeously exotic Gemma Jones has left him a message, he realizes how much he actually misses her. He shows up at her hotel, catching her off guard, and that one proactive move takes the pair of would-be lovers on the most tumultuous, yet sexually and emotionally gratifying rollercoaster ride of their lives. Sal has to decide if he is willing to risk it all for the love of a good woman, and Gemma has to decide if a player like Sal Gabrini can ever truly change and become the man she will need him to be. Their tempers flare, their personalities clash, but their love for each other becomes the cornerstone that could actually make their relationship work. In the first book by bestselling author Mallory Monroe that focuses on Tommy’s younger brother Sal, Romancing Sal Gabrini is an interracial romance that takes the readers on a compelling journey of love, sex, and tears.

Review: And the Romancing Continues! - The latest Gabrini saga this time featuring Sal and Gemma packed a passionate punch. I knew they would be good together, but I had no idea just how smoking hot they would be. Sal with his trunk load of flaws, personally and emotionally. Gemma with her higher road and absolutes that she just will not compromise for anyone. My only issue is one that I've mentioned in the discussion blogs, I am starting to wonder if Miss Monroe is really a white man in disguise. I don't know of any black woman-regardless how dark her skin that refers to her skin tone as `black' as Gemma does in the story. Remember the song `Brown Skin' by India Arie. I don't know not a big thing but something that keeps gnawing at me in the back of my mind. Also the guy on the cover messes up my imagery of Sal. I imaged Sal like James Gandolfini from Sopranos that guy on the cover needs to go. I thoroughly enjoyed this story as I do all about the Gabrini men. They are without a doubt my favorite. This story leaves poor Tommy and Grace romance in the dust. They will definitely need to step it up a notch to compete. Who could have known all those years talking smack about Tommy and his `black women' and now look at Sal with the biggest ring in his nose. If you've read any of the Romancing series you have to read this one-you will not be disappointed! Excited to see there are more stories on the way!
Review: ROMANCING SAL GABRINI...DELIVERED IN SPADES!!!! - Ms.Monroe "Romancing Sal Gabrini" did not disappoint; you created a professional woman with "Gemma with a G" character and you delivered from the inception of the novel until its conclusion. Kudos to you for allowing Gemma to know her self-worth and acting accordingly! We know that the Gabrini men fight hard, and they love equally as hard, and Sal is no exception. You gave us a glimpse into Sal's life so that we could see where his "hardness" comes from, and you tore away his bravado and exposed his vulnerability, as part of his transformation. I love that Sal does not take himself too seriously and he owned up to his shortcomings, which forced Gemma to acknowledge hers as well. Sal is never going to be a saint, but this is what makes him unique and such a great character. Sal and Gemma make a dynamo couple and I look forward to reading about them as they embark on their journey together. I also envisioned Tommy with a type of woman with Gemma's strength. Ms. Monroe, in my opinion, this book is truly one of your best; you gave us a well told story without a lot of histrionics.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mallory Monroe ....... I'm struggling with the words.
*by K***S on December 21, 2013*

I've read the two Tommy Gabrini books and now Sal's. The characters are fresh, well crafted, fully realized people that I fell in love with. The fact that we meet tough, alphas who are vulnerable in love is brilliant. That is because they do what they have to in spite of the women they love .... because of the women they love. You are truly a gifted story teller. With that said, I would like to share something about reading romance novels. I started young like most of the author bios I have read. Because of writers like you young girls are going to have examples they can emulate. I read exclusively about, blondes, red-heads and brunettes with, blue, gray and green eyes. They always had pale, creamy skin. But, I somehow managed to imagine my caramel skin with nappy brown hair and eyes that appear black because they don't reflect enough light to give detail, in every freaking character. The benefits of my imagination were many. This lower middle-class kid from Spanish Harlem wrote well enough to get into college on scholarships. I joined the military and unless someone asked or I volunteered no one could figure out where I grew up. I was never ashamed of my origins. It made me, strong, street-smart and tough. Granted my New Yorican comes out with my family and friends. But I know the difference. The ONLY thing that gave me pause in any of the books was the way people spoke. As if the only audience for the books was one who didn't speak better. I felt myself get caught up with every grammatical error. All of the characters spoke the same way and that was sad because you went to so much effort to create such wonderful people. I learned a while back, I don't have to write for the lowest common denominator. Readers, movie goers people who buy music will always gravitate to what is good. Bruno Mars has a huge fan base not dependent on race but on the songs he puts out that are well written. I'm not saying the characters shouldn't sound real. But if you put someone in a boardroom, they need to sound like they can hold their own there. I kept going back and saying, "They didn't just say that in a business meeting". I love your work but unfortunately I won't read more because I can't believe that no one in the world of the Gabrinis speaks better than what you've written. Sorry.
