Aquatic Life HM Electronics Core XP Marine Coral Reef Wireless LED Aquarium Light Fixture with Full Spectrum Color Lighting Unit Strip App Controlled Smart Lights

Recently added two of these to the Aquatic Life DX18 T5 Hybrid fixture and have been pleasantly surprised. I have a 130g reef tank and these light the entire thing up with excellent spread. Longevity is key in this hobby as nothing good happens quickly, but I've already seen a positive response with the different corals in my reef tank.Overall Fixture Quality/LookMy first impression was that this light is slim! I've owned a good number of the LED lights on the market across my reef tanks and this one has to be one of the cleanest design wise. It's a lightweight fixture and is fairly straightforward to mount onto the brackets provided with the DX18 Hybrid Fixture.Setup/ControllabilityConnecting to these lights via Bluetooth was very simple. The app connected to the lights quickly and I was immediately blown away with the amount of controllability and number of features provided in the app. There is a certain amount of complexity to using the HME Aqua app, but overall once you get an understanding for the app the features are incredibly cool. I am particularly impressed with the on screen display of light spectrum as you change the intensity of the individual color channels. The app even provides light spectrum slider that changes at different depth levels of the reef! (E.G. At 8m there is a visibly whiter spectrum and higher intensity than at 40m).AppearanceThese lights have such a full spectrum of LED's that you can really adjust them to the levels that are most appealing to you personally. I love that I can have it start with a deeper blue in the morning and progress to a more natural light (18-20k range) at mid day (of course ending with the blues and UV to get the fluorescent pop). The light have a natural shimmer on the sand bed, but seem to avoid any sort of disco effect or any standout spots of particular LED channels due to the lens technology.Overall, the CoreXP 48 is well designed and appears to have all the features expected of the high end LED market for reef tank lighting. The amount of features and complexity of the app setup can be a bit overwhelming at the start, but it's also part of what's impressed me the most about these lights. Corals are responding well and have an awesome pop under this light and I'm looking forward to seeing them grow long term!

Nice light, very bright. And works perfect foe my 65 gallon tank. Bluetooth side of things is kind of hard to adjust. No way to adjust the lights and save your adjustments unless you do it under preset.Dec 26 2021. Best light ibhave so far. Contacted aqudiclife And they explained how to control and set the light. I light looks much better than my Radion xr30 blue. I'll buy another one soon to replace the g5October 25 update//As of today I'm debating on returning the light. Other than the 7 region light settings that are preprogrammed, you can not adjust to the setting you want. I've reached out to the maker of the light. As of now the light is not worth the price. Do not buy if you have a mixed reef tank. White light is way to bright and grows algea!!!

the mount is garbage. it leached paint and aluminum into my tank and killed two cynarinas, a two head torch. a brain, a scoly and a stylo.

The Core X LED has a nice solid build and the slim design is great. 2 fixtures is all I need to cover my 210g aquarium and I use them with the Aquatic Life Hybrid fixture. The app to control the lights is really easy to use and I like that you can set your lighting schedule to mimic different areas around the world or set your own. They come with some fun features like lightning and a cloud effects that I enjoy. You can customize the light spectrum and see it change as you move the sliders in the app. This can really help you dial in your lighting. There is also an acclimate feature to use when adding the Core X to your system. You can also export your light settings and share them which is really cool. Over all great build quality, easy to use app with a lot of great features to help you dial in the lighting you need for your aquarium. I've noticed a big difference since changing my system to this lights. My mushroom corals and leather coral are doing really well just to name a few. I like the shimmer it produces over the tank and the spread of the LEDs and in conjunction with my Aquatic life Hybrid they look amazing over my reef!

The light is amazing, the design aesthetic is very minimalistic which is great, it's not as bulky as the higher end lights out there. Brightness overall is 10/10, there are a few shaded corals in my little tank, but that is to be expected with cluster LEDs. App functionality has a learning curve but it is fully customizable, I noticed between Android and iOS there layout is different. Connecting to the CoreXP is pretty straightforward, the fans are temperature regulated and overall very silent. Corals and nems have responded to the light very well (there is an acclimation mode). Overall very happy with the CoreXP.

I liked the fast shipping got the lights today and one of them I plugged in and it worked for a couple minutes and then it went out. Power supply really hot now light doesn’t work at all. Not happy. I called the number on here and it says they are not open Friday through Sunday, I can’t wait three days for a response and probably another week or so before they send a replacement
