Review: Great family backpacking tent! - I practice pitched the tent at home. If racing rain I could do in less than 5 minutes, 3 with help. Super simple. Good quality. Efficient design. In time I will tell about performance. Now my story: Taking family of 5 on four night Appalachian Trail section hike. I’m a hammock guy, but wife is not. My target for Shelter+Sleeping = 3.0lb per person. Sadly 5 hammocks CANNOT win the weight game. Comparison: Hammock 22.5oz, Rain fly & stakes 25oz, Under quilt 19oz, Total weight = 4.2lb per person I swapped the steel stakes for ultralight aluminum. Ditched the center pole for 2 trekking poles. Now Tent 10.5lb/5 =33.6oz, Sleeping pad 14.5oz Total = 48.6oz = 3.04lb per person Weight Winner = Tent. It probably takes 10+ minutes to setup my hammock/fly/under quilt. Double to setup for my wife, triple for my daughter. Time Winner = Tent Well, tent it is. Only time will tell if this budget tarp tent is a winner after my family finishes our adventure in a few weeks. I will come back then and give an update. *Update 4/4/2021 Well, the temps unexpectedly dropped on our Appalachian Trail adventure! Forecast was low 20s with winds gusting into the 30mph range. We camped about 1,000ft elevation above the forecast so it was probably a little windier and may have dropped into the teens. It didn’t rain, so I can’t say anything about that. However, the tent blocked the wind very well. My family was skeptical about using trekking poles instead of the original pole, but it worked great. This isn’t a winter tent, so it’s unfair to judge in on warmth, however I never noticed any drafts even though it’s designed to ventilate well. I was concerned about the wind, but the tent handled it well and we survived the night. Overall, I’m very happy with this tent. In fact I’m considering purchasing a second tent and cutting out the floor to experiment with making it a lightweight tarp tent. Not that it means anything, but I also became a fan of the color and the topo pattern. I’d buy again.
Review: Super easy to set up as long as the ground accepts stakes. - I bought this to test out teepee style tents, fell in love with the ease of set up (once I figured out that I had to stake the edges before raising the center pole) and my only regret is not buying a bigger one so I could stand more comfortably in this style. I’m 5’7”, so I am able to stand in this tent, however I’m basically hugging the pole. There is plenty of space for two adult couples in this tent or several children. Of note: this type of tent takes up a relatively large foot print and is potentially less forgiving on slants than than other types of tents. Also, this type absolutely requires stakable ground, be aware of soil quality at campsites and/or make sure you have better stakes and good tools to drive them in.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Light weight; fast set up; roomy; easy to use
*by S***I on April 19, 2021*

Impressive durability during heavy rain, and the interior flooring material goes up along the sides several inches before the screen begins so it creates like a bowl or lip which was awesome. I found the rain flap to be very easy to put on and take off as needed. I chose to keep it off and just sleep under the screen, but it did start to rain, and within 1 minute I was dry and interior secure. Completely assembled by myself in just a few minutes. I fit three large twin size air mattresses and other stuff with room to spare. I am glad I didn’t go with to the new style pop-up tents like my daughter and son-in-law chose because they paid double to save literally just a few minutes during set up and take down; and theirs was heavier because of extra poles. This tent is incredibly easy to assemble with just one pole and six (although, I doubled to 12, just in case) stakes into the ground. The ground was soft enough so I was able to press the stakes with my foot; but I was ready to use my camping mallet if called for. I love this tent. I call it my teepee. Lol
