Salomon Cross Hike Mid GTX Hiking Boots Mens

I hike with my dog maybe 15 miles a week or so year round. Winter time I like to use a cross hiker type shoe. My keens finally bit the dust and started to leak. I fell in love with the Salomon XA Pro 3D trail runners for summer (2nd pair of those...) so thought about the higher water proof version. For some reason they don’t use the quick lace system like the lower ones and it’s 2021 and you just don’t need to tie shoes any more. So I went with the crosshike with the killer lacing system.The good first: fit is nearly identical to the ax pro, lacing system is amazing, tread is wonderful and releases mud well, water proof is good so far, light weight, very comfortable, warm enough for a couple hours in freezing temperatures, great foot bed and ankle support.The bad: durability is very suspect. See picture, like the other review they are coming unglued after less than a month. Worse than that is that the material is also starting to fail. I would give them 0 stars for durability.Come on Salomon these are $170 shoes! The most expensive shoes I ever bought. How did you test these? (I’m not a big heavy dude either that wears shoes out quickly, 140lbs...) A real hiker/trail runner would wear these things out in a week. I’m a dog walker for goodness sake and will not get a winter out of these. Should have bought another pair of keens, they look ridiculous but last 3 or 4 years.They are great, comfortable, shoes, just don’t wear them outside...

If your familiar with Solomon’s product line the Cross Hike fits like a high top version of the Speedcross. Pros are I use these for going to the range so there pretty smooth for standing around all day. These also have pretty aggressive lugs so they make short work of moving around on uneven surfaces. Light weight feel and no break in makes them far more comfortable than wearing boots. Waterproof is a nice touch for when the range is still drying out and the quick lace system is welcomed. Cons are they not well suited for wearing indoors like walking around the mall or immovable surface as you will certainly wear out the deep grips/lugs on the sole pretty quickly. The lugs are also pretty tall so I feel like I’m walking on high heels but just goes to the design of the shoe. The waterproof gore Tex also doesn’t breathe so not crazy about wearing this in hot weather. The fabric tear is real, hopefully will fix this in the next version. Not bad for a first attempt, looking for improvements next year. I only give out five stars if I would buy the product again, and the answer is yes, I would buy them again.

These fit as expected, they seem to use the same tech material and gortex sealing methods as a lightweight rain shell. That makes them light but also maybe fragile.I've seen some of the other reviews that claim delamination between the layers.So far I put a few miles on them and wear them around muddy areas and it's okay.I wouldn't trust the material to hold up to too much scraping or technical terrain against rocks. I'd reserve these just for hiking.

These shoes / boots arrived today ( sooner than expected ) just as I was leaving my house for a mountain trail run with the dogs. I decided to try them out right away so I took a minute to take off the shoes I had on and wear these instead. Thinking It was a good time to break them in. It was raining out, 37 degrees and snow / ice covered trails with snow melt puddles everywhere. 10 miles later my feet are still dry and comfortable... These shoes need no break in time at all. The traction was amazing, they are sturdy, well made and fit perfectly! Best $170 investment ever! In fact I'm ready to order a second pair!

Mostly great shoe. Outer sole could be a little wider, feels rather narrow. Love the since system, quick and easy. Upper material punctures easily, stay away from thorny areas, not durable. For fit...lower lace section seems to be tighter, while upper ankle area can't really sinch as well. Needs a lace loop higher up. Overall, good shoe

I love these boots, I regularly venture out into forest preserves to do hobby nature photography, and these fit wonderfully and are durable and comfy. The lacing system took a few tried to get just right but once you have it dialed in correctly you are golden

My husband has been running marching in these with a 40 pound bag and loves the support and boot feel. He did say that there is no air control so his feet sweat causing a blister, but he wants to cut air holes as the shoes fit and feel great.

Comodo e resistente quanto basta per fare attività all’aperto. Prendere sempre mezza misura (meglio una in più) in più in quanto le taglie francesi sono più piccole.

Excelente producto, nunca había usado un calzado de estas características, ligeras, amortiguan bien el impacto, hasta siento que contribuyen a un mejor desempeño.

Excelsntes botas. La base es similar a unos tenis Speedcross pero mas altas y con mayor ajuste.
