KastKing Centron Spinning Reel – Fishing Rod Combos, Toray IM6 Graphite 2Pc Blanks, Stainless Steel Guides

As soon as I got this I paired it with some Kastking 10lb braid and hit the river. River was in flood warnings so I figured just get some casting in and see how well some worms from Uncle Jim's stayed on the hook.Really nice balance to the combo. Bail returns smooth every time, no hang or pause on first crank. River being high I wasn't expecting much, when I caught this 8.5lb channel cat. Now with a lot of newer rods I always and concerned with the rigidity and about how strong they really are or how they handle pressure from a bigger fish. The Centron's rod was a champ. First thing he did was hit the deep fast current and I never felt like the rod was being stressed. Whenever I got him into calmer water he would try to run under a big log and the rod handled horsing him back perfectly.Overall couldn't be happier with the Centron combo. Last year I lost 2 Shimano FX combos I'd had for over 25 years and his should be an excellent replacement.

I bought this Kastking Centron combo mainly for my 8-year boys. Yesterday we took it to the jetty to fish for Spanish mackerel. The rod casts very well. Even a 8-year boy can easily cast a 1/2 oz spoon 30,40 yards away. The reel retrieves smoothly and the drag is also awesome. Most important, he caught a keeper Smack on a really slow day!

If you want to spend several hundreds of dollars for a Rod and Reel combo this is not what your looking for. BUT if you want a great quality combo that will out perform most other middle of the road brands, then go with this combo. You will not be disappointed!!!

Ok so let me say that I'm no stranger to KastKing products, in fact I've been buying their goodies for years! I already own the first Gen Centron 3000 reel and it was worth every tiny lil penny. So when they dropped this new revised Centron and as a combo too! KaBoom I was on it. For a rod and reel combo in the $60 range this thing is gorgeous, simple yet very pretty. Torey IM6 blank -DANG! Love it, especially since it was less then what I pay for some reels alone! Awesome Combo for such a great price.

I purchased this combo as a gift for my bass-fishing son. He asked for this pole for is 23rd Birthday. Wanted me to return it because it turned out to be expensive. I thought he deserved a nice combo. I read multiple reviews saying the tip snapped, did i listen? No, I purchased it anyway! He loved the combo the first trip, the second trip, not so much, tip broke off about 12ish inches down! I contacted kastking, sent photos, video, and copy of my invoice. Their warranty is is as follows, customer sends back pole and pays for postage, then customer has to pay 20.00 for shipping and handling back. That's only if they find it's a manufacturer issue. If they find it's your fault... they will only charge you half the cost of rod, 20.00 plus shipping and handling, plus the money you spent to send it back to them. So say it cost you total $40.00 for shipping both ways, half the cost of rod that's $35.00, total is 75.00!!! Amazon sells this for 70.00! That is some warranty! Customer service sent me a link to purchase new tip for 25.00! That's a no brainier, but is the new replacement tip just as defective as the old tip!!!! I'm thinking there is a reason for the negative reviews, please don't be out 70.00 like I am. I have sent multiple emails to customer service, with no solution but me having to pay a lot of money out of pocket !😣

Out of the package this combo really impressed. I bought this combo specifically to take to my cottage in upper Michigan and use to catch muskie which is the only place I would make use of it. I paired this combo with 25 pound Kastking Superpower braided line (highly recommended braid). Within 10 minutes of use, I ended up snagging a large stick while using a swim bait, the first time taking it on the lake. I pulled up hard to try and break loose from the snag, which worked, but snapped the first 6 or 7 inches of the tip of the rod off. I love kast king products and own a couple other mediums poles that have dragged up heavier sticks that I've snagged with no issues. Disappointing considering the usual quality of the products I order, and also confused as this was an 8ft heavy rod I bought for muskie that is now nothing more then a paperweight. Hoping this was a defect and will be contacting Kastking to see if I have any options.

Tried the new reel and rod near a lake dam, the rod is very light, east to hold, the reel is very smooth, with 10 lb line and 1/8 oz jig, can throw the jig very far to the lake, the feeling is so good!

I hooked a nice fish but the drag did not hold. I returned the rod and reel for a full refund. This was my first experienced with braided line. Later did I learn I should have started filling the reel with mono and then tying braided line to the mono. This was not expressed in the information included with the reel. If I had known, I would have kept the rod and reel combo.
