I just brought in my 18 pound miniature golden doodle from the 95°F heat. He never started panting during the 15 minutes we were out. We have humidity here in Virginia, so I wasn’t sure if that would affect the performance vs. dry climates, but his jacket was cool to the touch. I had to hurry him because I wasn’t tolerating the heat nearly as well. He just casually explored the grass. He didn’t care if he was in the sun or shade. This jacket is super convenient because it has a built in harness, making walks outside easy to prep. I love the reflective features. One side of the zipper has 2 zips, which makes the girth adjustable. There are also pull ties to adjust if you want to get fussy. His ribcage is covered and the wide leg openings make it easy for him to move. The materials and workmanship are excellent. The cost is reasonable for the quality and performance.

This Cooling Vest works great on my Dog. During the afternoons and the peak of the hot days this vest does the trick to keep her cool and comfortable. My Dog has a tendency to get hot quickly when outdoors during the hottest part of the day. She usually comes back into the house panting and breathing heavy. It takes a while for her to get back to normal breathing. Using the Cooling Vest works GREAT! No more breathing heavy and panting to cool her body down. This Cooling Vest works to keep our Dog comfortable and cool. When we received the Cooling Vest we were surprised how well made it was and how easy it was to put on our dog. We like the Velcro and zipper combination. We usually close the Velcro first then zip up the vest. This step works great when your dog is in a hurry to get outdoors. The zipper is well made and there is a small flap to help keep the fur away from the zipper. Another feature we like is the built-in Metal loop to teather a leash or to fasten to her Doggie Car Seat. This works great when traveling in the car with no additional harness to put over the Cooling Vest. If you Dog gets hot quickly and comes back indoors breathing heavy to cool down you need this vest. We are buying another one so our daughter has one when she takes our dog for the day/evening. We are completely satisfied with this purchase!

Pro: high quality material and make. I wasn’t able to try it wet (because I knew I was going to return it already), but I can see how it could keep my dog cool. You can attach a leash so you don’t have to add an additional harness (huge plus for me and the reason I got it!). This will work really well for small to medium-small dogs. Con: for larger dogs (mine is 60lbs), this may be an issue. My dog is 8 years old and has joint issues. The zipper is on top of the vest so you’ll have to slide the vest under and plop both paws in. This may not seem like a big deal but the larger size is already quite heavy that you have to drag it on the floor. With the vest already wet, it’ll get your floor wet or gather dirt if trying to put on outside. It just seems like I’ll have to clean it everytime I put it on her. And maneuvering it wet would be way too hard. Returning the item. If they can re-engineer so that the zipper stays on top, but you sling it under the body while another piece slings around the neck (so you don’t have to lift the paws to put it on) I would buy 3 in a second!

This cooling vest has been great! We’ve used it almost daily on our commute this July. Helps keep my 1.5 year old Boykin Spaniel pup cooler in the car (weather in mid-80s to high-90s). My car has AC, but it sucks. If I didn’t let her swim constantly in the summer I’d probably have her wear the vest more outside too. Size M fits her beautifully. For reference, her measurements are: Neck: 14.5”…Chest Girth: 24”…Back length: 18” …Weight: 33 lbs” As others noted, if vest is well soaked, it only stays wet for an hour or two in hot weather. It’s easy to soak again, but if you leave it on long enough to totally dry out, it’ll just become an added layer. *I should clarify, I use it to help cool off my dog in the car when I’m driving, windows down or (weak) AC blasting. Not left alone in a hot car. This vest is great cooling aid, but it is not a life saving device if you leave your pet in the car on a warm day (even for a quick run into the store). My friend lost her dog this way, and it’s heartbreakingly common. Don’t leave pets in hot cars. Get this vest to help them stay cool in hot weather. On top of drinking water, bring extra if you need to re-soak the vest on the go. Ask your vet, or google a car temp. safety chart-make sure your dog sitters have one too.

I usually don’t comment on my purchases but have to make an exception with this one. This cooling jacket is great. I have a Caviler King Charles who is always hot. When we travel it been such an issue to keep her cool. This coat has solved the problem completely. I was a little doubtful at first. I soaked the jacket in cold water, wringing it out and let it hang on the faucet till we were ready to leave. It is wet so you’ll want to put your dog on a towel or have one on your lap if they sit on your lap during the drive. It works fantastic. She was nice and cool all the way to our destination. Remarkably her coat was not soaked just a tiny bit damp. Made our trip so much more enjoyable for her. Highly recommend it. Judy B

This seems to be a well made jacket. The issue I have is the sizing. My dog's length from neck to tail. is 11 inches. This was too long (it would have been helpful to include this measurement). Also, his girth is 16 inches which a medium should have fit but was big. The underside is too long (for a male dog). The photo shows the underside (around his tummy at a good length, but it is too not long. Unfortunately, I will have to return.

2nd Update: My dog LOVES this! It's so lighweight he feels free to run much more than with a harness vest we use. Feels really cool when water is placed on it and it stays damp for hours. I just ordered a 2nd one to have on hand! So, now my rating is a 5 star! (as long as this next order is the size I order or I'll update again). Update: I received the correct size today and it fits wonderfully! It took about a week for them to ship it out and I got it the next day. My Chihuahua is very big chested (measurement shows he needs a Small on the chart) so if you have a typical sized Chihuahua you may need the XXS. He doesn't need the adjustment part under his chest as he fills it out just right. Neck fits perfect. Upgraded to a 4 star. Would be 5 but sizing was an issue along with receiving the wrong size when ordered. ‐‐---------‐--------------------------‐------------------------ I received a SMALL as a gift and it was way too big even though I followed the measurements shown. I decided to just order an XTRA SMALL and not bother the person who ordered the small as a gift for returning it. Today I received a MEDIUM! I have a Chihuahua that's a bit husky and after all this I'm hoping the XTRA SMALL (when I eventually get it) will fit him. I can't rate the quality of the product or it's features as I have yet to have one that fits. Be aware that if you have a male dog, there is a plastic piece that scrunches up the bottom section for a better fit, but with the small size, it was rubbing on his private parts and he would have pee'd all over it. Fingers crossed for the correct size and that it actually fits.

Just love this cooling harness! Looks attractive and keeps my girl nice and cool!

Not sure if it works the way it claims...but the material is super heavy and my wife didn't like putting it on our little guy because she thought that people would think we were torturing him in the heat with such a heavy jacket.

Well made and easy to put on the dog with rings that are good enough to attach a leash if the dog is not too much of a puller. It holds quite a bit of water and definitely keeps my Havanese dog cooler than nothing at all. However, it isn't as effective when his coat is longer or if it gets above about 25C. Still, worth to money and does help in the heat.
