Dovecote Manor Bird House – Pure Copper Roof by Good Directions

Very attractive, well constructed with a better and longer lasting roof than the previous shingle type that our two previous ones had. Fits perfectly and securely without needing screws, etc. on standard "4x4" post (which actually is 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"). Only con is that roof just drops onto housing without a method to secure it; however, it seems stable and doubt that it would become dislodged in moderately strong wind or otherwise, and does make it easy to remove to clean out the house. After looking at other alternative dovecotes we are very satisfied with choosing this one.

The media could not be loaded. Beautiful high quality bird house with vent holes, stunning copper roof and easy clean need be. Lots of compliments! The post I used i got at Lowe’s and it is 3.5 x 3.5” x 6’ which fits best. I painted it with ColorMaxx all in one primer and paint because it lasts and is good for outdoors. It was Super easy to paint took 5 min with a mini 4” roller. I looked high and low for a good post and they’re almost $200! I got this for $9. At first I tried a PVC sleeve over the wood post and it looked shiny and plastic.. also was too large being a 4x4, it didn’t fit anyway. The natural look of the wood grain with the paint is so pretty. Planted some roses about to bloom at the bottom to add elegance.

I was a little skeptical to order this because of the reviews saying it arrived broken, but I’m glad I ordered it!! It is the most beautiful birdhouse I have ever owned!! Very quality merchandise! Worth every penny! It was packed great and no damage whatsoever!! In fact, it’s made so well with thick wood that I don’t know how it could break!! It is huge!! Very satisfied!

Like others noted, it arrives broken, which is a greater disappointment given the price. Multiple perches are broken off. Seems unlikely a replacement order would be any better as it seems it is common for them to arrive this way. Will just have to try glueing/tacking it back together...

This is a large, well crafted birdhouse. It was carefully packed and arrived on time, with no damage. The copper roof will last forever and it fits perfectly. Clean out will be easy at the end of the season as the roof lifts. It mounts on a 4x4 post. Not inexpensive, but so well made its really worth it. So happy to find an eco- friendly house. Highly recommend this product!

My birdhouse came broken and no top

I ordered this beautiful handmade bird house for my husband to celebrate our 29th anniversary, but it arrived cracked and broken. I had seen other reviews saying this but took a chance on the product anyway. Thankfully my husband is handy and was able to repair it rather than go through the hassle of a return. But this company needs to fix this issue to make sure their lovely product arrives pristinely in tact. And Amazon needs to also put pressure on them to do so since multiple reviews mention that it arrives broken. Someone is not packing it properly. It’s far too expensive to not be absolutely perfect let alone broken. Especially since this was a special gift, joy was diminished for the receiver to have to get out his tools to fix it.
