I was looking for something to help with insomnia and stress, and this mat had quite a few good reviews. Now I am not going to tell you that it cured my insomnia and stress, because it didn't. But I do like it anyway. I use it when I come home from work; usually between a half hour to 1 hour. I wear a sports bra and lay on it on my back and on my stomach and it does indeed make your skin very warm and I actually look like I have a bad sunburn after! I think it is somewhat relaxing and the warming sensation is nice since I tend to be cold a lot. As for the people that said they could not stand on it with bare feet, that was true for me at first, but after using it for about 1 month (3-4 days a week) I can actually stand on it without socks! And for all those silly people that said it was too painful and returned it right away, sorry I say they didn't give it enough of a chance. The little discs are quite sharp, but it is accupressure after all!

just a bunch of really sharp plastic needlely buttons on a plastic mat. very uncomfortale.not at all what was expected

I have fibromyalgia so I was really in a lot of pain and desperately looking for something to help. This mat is very sharp and it does work on areas that I needed. The only thing is that my lower back did not touch the spikes and I needed that area the most. I think it works differently on everybody and you have to relax and get used to it. I don't recommend laying on it for than 30 minutes at a time. Add a towel or blanket if it's too intense.

Very uncomfortable to use and I didn't see any results.

Let's start with.. I can stand to lose a few lbs. I didn't want to put it on the floor b/c the points are, well pointy and it's a flat hard surface. I pulled down my covers and put it on my mattress. Tried it with a thin tshirt on, couldn't feel the points as much as I wanted to. I took the shirt off and WOW, felt the points! As I lay there, I first noticed I could feel my pulse 'bounding' thru-out my 'core'. I thought, wow is that my heart beating fast? No, just "felt" the pulse. Then, followed a warm sensation all over my back. After a few minutes .. lost count? 5 min? My pulse was no longer vibrating thru my core.The points can take a moment to get used to. I came home last night from clinical and my package was there, so I tried it before bed. I ended up the first time, on it for 20-30 min? Again I lost count :) I felt SO GOOD afterwards! Kinda happy and a lil energetic/mellow. I noticed my back was rather red and I could 'see' the point indentations but that went away.I tried it again today, the 2nd time, I felt more sensitive but stayed on it a few minutes after the heart pulse sensation went away. So maybe a total of 10? AGAIN, felt GREAT! Happy, relaxed and a lil energized. Back still got red but that's to be expected.Tried the front.. NOT for me! Maybe if I put a towel over my breasts? Will try that. I tried to wrap a towel and slide it under the mat to use on my neck last night... it worked okay. But I'm going to purchase the matching pillow.I see an acupuncturist when I can...so I was not 'surprised' how the points felt. Glad it's listed as Non-Toxic ABS plastic! :)

Good quality and half-the-cost of similar mats I have seen. Comfortable, but the jury is still out as to the benefits of acupressure regarding pain...still working up to daily use.
