My references are mid to lower end Shimano and Abu Garcia. I value reliability and smoothness. The KastKing Sharky 3 fits the bill quite nicely. It is as smooth as any reel I've ever tried. No wobble or gear grinding . The ten ball bearings no doubt help with that. It looks expensive (really the fish won't care) and has the feel of a premium product.It has many nice touches, carbon fibre washers for the drag, braid ready aluminum spool, larger than average bail. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I bought this as a Christmas present for my nephew and after trying it out I found my self wishing I had kept it. When one of my other reels needs replacing I know what I'm shopping for.
