When i saw it came I was too excited. I love kukris. This is my fourth technically 5th cause I gave one away to someone wanted one. Never had a Damascus one, I have a Damascus dagger and karambit. I just find Damascus fascinating. It does come with an oil coating, but anyone that knows Damascus knows the high carbon steel is prone to rust. Just wipe it off but if it’s kept completely dry for a period of time especially in a humid environment, it, will, rust. These metals and blades require care. The pattern on mine I think is just amazing. I have tried to use it, weight feels good, handle feels good in the hand, the weight, the swinging, balance, and it held up. Came with a good edge and bevel, no chips or anything and i was using it on decently hard wood. I quit after so long cause I just felt bad for swinging it cause how much I love it. For the money yes definitely worth it. Strong, dependable, good forge work and a work of art. I love the Damascus steel etched in on it. It is very sharp and very sturdy and is the size I expected it to be.
