I’ve been searching for a toilet lid that would fit my Kohler and I took a chance on this product. Kohler makes so many toliet lids and usually the videos don’t really show all of the details needed to see if it will fit. But the video for this product was perfect. It showed the style of the catch and release and how it fits. Very thankful because I’ve returned so many because they were not the right one. It arrived pretty quick, packaged well and it was easy to install. It’s not very expensive but then again it is made of hard plastic. The product is great but giving it a 4 because Kohler really should show what the latches look like in their videos.

Perfect fit, and color. Works great when looking for an inexpensive replacement

I have four toilets in my home that are almond color. Finding almond colored toilet seats is not necessarily difficult but not that easy either. From one manufacture to another the color can vary. I originally purchased wood toilet seats in an almond color from Home Depot. The color matched my toilets perfectly. The problem is the seats became discolored over time from cleaning. The discoloration actually made it look as if I never cleaned them. Which of course annoyed me because I keep a pretty clean house and the idea that it looked like I didn't clean my toilets properly was bothering me to ninth degree. After buying these wooden seats a couple of times I finally decided to switch to plastic seats. The reason I had not before is because the color was always off. But, I took a risk with these Kohler and I'm glad I did. The color matches perfectly and the seat isn't a flimsy plastic seat either. I purchased the elongated seats and they fit my toilets perfectly. They are pretty simple to install. But I do like the mounting systems of the previous brand better. Especially considering that I could lift the toilet seats off without have to unscrew anything. I've not had them long enough to determine if cleaning them will create the issue I had with the wooden seats, but I don't think it will. I tend to wipe my toilet seats down with cleaning sheets several times a week (almost daily), with the wooden seats the discoloration started within weeks of installing them. I'm hoping that won't be the case with these. I'm also hoping they maintain their luster as well. The finish of these make them look more like the toilet than the wooden ones did. So, initially, I'm very pleased with the product. Trust me, if that changes, I'll update this review.

I recently purchased this toilet seat, but overall I am quite disappointed with the product. 1. There was some orange stain on the top cover(first photo) and the area that comes into contact with the top cover. (second photo) The small packaging bag for the nail stuff was fluorescent orange, so I want to assume the color transferred from it. I was planning to wash it before use, but it’s still disappointing to see staining on a brand-new product, and it feels unhygienic. In addition, there was a noticeable deep scratch on the back. 2. If you see the video, the product was advertised as having a quiet-closing feature, but it does not function that way at all. Even when I tried to close it gently (as I did with my previous seat, which also wasn’t quiet-close), it slammed down much louder. 3. The biggest issue is the hinge design. I bought this specifically because it was advertised as easy to remove so that I could clean it easily, but the hinges are made of plastic and are very stiff. They do not detach easily, so I have to use force each time, which makes me concerned about durability. The hinge covers are also plastic and extremely difficult to open. I even had to use a screwdriver to pry them open during installation. I already threw away my old seat, so I’ll have to use this one for now. But overall, the build quality, functionality, and ease of use all fall short of expectations.

i have never had an issue putting on new toilet seats in my life until now, and i get two in just one day?! since i was replacing the seat in the one bathroom i thought i might as well do them both. so i ordered this and thought nothing more of it. UNTIL i went to install it. the seat itself looked just fine, seemed to be okay. but no parts? i shook the box and out popped a 'blob' of tape rolled up in a bunch with what looked to be parts inside as well as crumpled up instructions? it had stuck to the inside of the box, why it only came out after shaking the box. it was impossible to open the tape ball without a pair of scissors and trying to cut through the mess for a couple minutes. it's a good thing i know how seats go on as the instructions were destroyed by how they balled them up in the tape as well. then the hammer fell so to speak. inside the pain in the neck parts 'tape ball' were just two small black rectangular pieces. those both went into the hinge area of the seat. BUT the big problem no other hardware was included. there should be quality control processes in play for all manufactured goods from toilet seats to automobiles. unfortunately for this seat there was no quality control, no checking and as a result they shipped out one or more seats sans the hardware necessary to put them in. i thought at first i could work around the omission by reusing the old hardware from the original seat. but no such luck as the design is not standard and i could not reuse any of my parts. this was a total pain to deal with. i had to remove the old seat, find then the new one was missing parts. then found standard hardware would not fit. only to have to put the old nasty seat back on until i get another in the next few days to replace this one. i'd just steer clear of this product entirely. the time i wasted and will have to put in all over again once i get the new one really ticked me off. i haven't had any products arrive with missing parts at my end in years until now. i regret every clicking on this product! oh and the kicker, they wanted me to contact the company directly and have them ship out the missing parts. sure no problem, i'll just tell the wife and family to squat over the bowl for a week or two.

The plastic is solid and the cover has a nice modern look. It fits an American Standard round bowl and the white color is proper. The detachable feature is nice and the bolts are steel. I had a cheaper seat that I gave back - the lid was so thin that you can't sit on it without its collapsing - this one is stronger. If you can't find the instructions that's because they are printed on the outside of the box and are not very clear to read or follow but it does work logically. The inside of the box has the product, two attachment sets and two little rubber feet that go to fill their spaces under the seat. That means that when you drop the seat, rubber, not plastic hits the rim. All in all it is a good product - better than the cheap wooden ones with the heavy lid that doesn't completely cover the seat or the cheap thin plastic ones that collapse. The detachable aspect is a plus but you should be careful not to misalign it.
