The only reason why I'm giving this four stars is the fact the locking mechanism doesn't work all that well. But it does work as a taser I accidentally activated it holding it from the wrong end my wife said I screamed like a girl my vision got blurry and I immediately dropped the pen, that was two and a half weeks ago and my hand still feels funny so if you're wondering if this will take anyone down yeah definitely and I only taszed myself for about a half a second. The self-defense items should always be used on a person's neck apparently that's the best place to get them for the maximum effect. A cop told me that Sophie affected me that much just changing my own Palm I can't imagine what it would do on a person's neck. But I would carry it outside your pocket because it's very easy to slide this locking mechanism it only takes the slightest bit of pressure to release it from its lock

I bought this Streetwise Pain Pen thinking it would give my wife a little peace of mind. What I did not expect was that she would immediately decide I was the perfect test subject. Let me tell you something: When they say 25,000,000 volts, they are not rounding up for marketing. This thing has enough juice to reboot a small town. My wife clicked the button, it crackled like Thor warming up his hammer, and before I could say “maybe we should read the instructions,” she tapped me with it like she was ringing a hotel bell. Instantly, my entire body did the Macarena, the Electric Slide, and whatever dance they do at those raves where everyone glows in the dark. I’m pretty sure I briefly spoke fluent Morse code. At one point, I’m 90% certain I time‑traveled. When I came back to reality, my wife was standing over me, laughing so hard she couldn’t breathe, saying, “Well… it works!” Yes. Yes, it does. It works so well that I now flinch when she picks up any pen — even the ones that click. This is a great self defense device. It is small, easily concealed, and appears innocuous until you activate it. Like the description says, most attackers only need to hear and see it in action, and they'll run away. I have it as one of my four levels of self protection that I have on me at all times. I carry pepper spray, this pain pen, a knife, and a nine millimeter on me. I refuse to be a victim, or let anyone around me be one. Although I have never had to use it intentionally, I have accidentally caused it to zap myself. Long story short, it zapped me for about a quarter of a second and it hurt like a MFer! It even left a mark for several days. I can only imagine the damage it would inflict on an attacker. My plan is to zap anyone who accosts me right in their eye sockets for as long as I can after I pepper spraythem, and then when they are incapacitated I will jam it down their throat and zap them for as long as I can then, as well. FAFO! Great defensive weapon, inexpensive and very effective. Please get one for anyone you care about in your life.
