Is there a way to set it up in its stand while charging? I feel like I was led on! Theres no hole in the tray for the cord to go throug.

You cannot put it in the base with the charger attached as you have noted. I do not know how you could cut the cheap plastic holder without destroying it.

So does it charge while it’s sitting in the dock?

No. It has a usb cable and a charger brick so it can be plugged in to charge. The stand is just a cheap plastic molded piece. It does fit everything nicely but it doesn’t do anything else.

How well does it trim thick hair below the waistline?

I haven’t trimmed any hair down in that region but I have trimmed my beard hairs several times and that is some thick, heavy hair and this trimmer handled it just fine. I think you would like this trimmer.

I've had issues with attachments of beard trimmers, bending while pressing against my face, causing hair to be uneven. Will these add-ons bend?

No they don’t but this razor is kind of trash. First one they sent me stopped working after first use. Then they sent me a second one and it came broken.
