It is small and does not make any noise that a human can hear...You just plug it in and forget it. It does it job without anyone know what it does. I have not seen any pests since plugging this in. I got this to get rid on ants in out house. It didn't make a difference at all, even when I plugged in in right next to where I was finding them. I would go check and there would be like 5-10 ants within 2 feet of it mocking me. I tried 2 different brands (this one and another one). Neither worked. I have used similar repellers for mice in the past and they have worked but for my needs at this time they were a total waste.
