Review: Impressed - I was looking for something so that I could use my cell phone to take pictures through my binoculars. The Vankey Cellphone Telescope Adapter Mount works great. It is very well build out of metal and is strong. I see reviewers who complain about how long it takes to set up and adjust each time to be ready to take pictures.. Yes the first set up and getting things lined up so that the cell phone camera is in the right place over the binocular eyepiece does take some adjusting. Once I had everything lined up right I made a note of where the adapter sat on the eyepiece. I then adjusted the cell phone holder so that the phone was still snug but I could pull it out of the holder without loosening the bolt. When I want to take pictures with my cell phone through my binoculars I just clamp the adapter on the eyepiece in the same position I found it works best then slide my cell phone into the holder with the camera over the binocular eyepiece. After a few practice tries I can now put the adapter on my binoculars, pop in my cell phone and be ready to take pictures in less than a minute. I am impressed with this product, exactly what I wanted.

Cons: * Isn't quite long enough for my Pixel 3a. Because it's volume buttons are a little further down the side than some other phones, I have to add some padding under the eyepiece in order to be able to line everything up right. It's a minor inconvenience that doesn't affect the product's performance once the eyepiece is attached. * The trade off for the sturdiness and durability is that it weighs enough that I had to rig up a counterweight to keep my Orion XT8 from slowly drifting down. Not a flaw in the product, but something to be aware of. * I think I'd prefer if the part that holds the phone were spring loaded instead of screwed down so that phones could be swapped out quicker. (My son and I like to take pictures with our own phones, so we switch somewhat frequently.) This is a very minor complaint. And the way it is might arguably hold the phone more firmly anyway. Overall, I love it.

A: The Vankey V1 will NOT work on the Vortex model that you are referencing. You will need the Vankey V1-L to fit your eyepiece.

A: Yes it does. Y have a Galaxy S7 and I use it attached to a mycroscope. Perfect fit.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ solid device

After getting this, I was amazed about how a few people wrote some negative reviews on it. I bought the metal version and maybe that is what makes a difference. It is sturdy and holds the telescope eyepiece nice and snugly in place. Contrary to what one reviewer said, you CAN use this with a cell phone that has a centered camera lens (mine is). It will allow you to manipulate its position totally as you may need it. The easiest way I found to use this was to first connect the device to the camera body with the side clamps bringing it up to the lens location and make sure it isn't covering any side buttons. Then move the eye piece holder carriage in an approximate position to line up with the camera lens and then tighten it there loosely to prevent it from moving easily. Then place the telescope lens into the lens carriage so that it freely drops into place right up against the camera lens flat all around. (both the camera lens and your telescope lens are recessed so even if you now start moving the lens holder carriage around to center the lens, it won't scratch any of the two lens surfaces.) Then turn on your camera and face it toward a light. Move the carriage more to center the glow then tighten in place. Now put a similar eyepiece lens power into your telescope to find the target that you want to photograph. Once you have the target centered as well as possible, remove that eyepiece and put in your camera/telescope lens device into the star diagonal. It will already be lined up pretty well with mostly only a minor adjustment for both the position and focus. You are now ready to take a picture. I use the timer for 3 seconds so that after I push the camera button, it gives the telescope time to settle down from the vibration of your pushing the camera button. Another advantage of this attachment is that your camera is right on top of the eyepiece close enough to easily see the object even if the lens has a short eye relief like 6mm or less. The view is now coming through the cell phone camera screen which allows everyone to see the target at the same time without needing each person to bring his eye tightly up against an eyepiece.
