10 times better than stock grips. Easy to install and fit perfectly on a 32 year old MK VII .44 Magnum Desert Eagle. If your Desert Eagle is a display piece, there are far prettier and more expensive options available. If you shoot your Desert Eagle, get these grips.

Some people have some trouble installing these. What you need is a pan of hot water, a small, soft mallet, and the right size screwdriver. To make the job easier the grips should be put into some pretty hot water to soften them so they will stretch. If it is a summer day and the sun is out, just putting them outside for a while will do the trick. Install one side first making sure the molded in tabs extend over the frame. Make sure by looking into the mag well. Then pull the other side into place by stretching it over the frame. It takes some hand strength. Once the tabs are over the frame, tap the back of the grip with the mallet to move the grip into position. Confirm correct positioning of the tabs by looking into the mag well. When the screws are reinstalled, you may have to push on the rubber to get a clear shot at the tapped hole in the frame. Make sure you can see the internal threads. Start both screws before tightening all the way. Last, make sure the magazine clears the grip tabs and will drop free. That's it, you're done. Once the grips are installed they're great!

These grips fit great out of the box. Installation was easy. These grips, as well as the stock, have tabs that slip under under the frame of the gun. If unfamiliar, be careful or you can break these tabs. Look at the replacement grips to get an idea how they fit and how the stock grips come off. They're easy to remove if you know to slide the tabs out. Love the feel of the rubber. A definite improvement over the stock grips.

I bought these for a newer Mark XIX Desert Eagle in 50AE. I read a ton about how hard the install process was. Getting my factory grips off was an absolute breeze as mine doesn't have the pin on the bottom. Factory grips came off in seconds and the new went on just as fast. I even reused my factory hardware. Easy peasy, and they look/feel great. I will get another when I buy another Deagle.

I've always been a fan of Hogue grips, they're great products and this one is not exception. While the install was a bit cumbersome, this is entirely due to the Desert Eagle grip design, making it a bit difficult to remove the original grip. However, once the original grip was removed, the installation of the Hogue grip was simple.I did have an issue with the top of the grip rubbing the slide so I needed to trim a small portion with a razor. That issue aside, the grip is great, I like the feel and additional traction provided by the rubber which the original plastic grip lacked (something I think is very important for a pistol of this size/weight). All in all, I think IWI should use this as the standard grip for the pistol.

I have Hogue grips on many of my pistols, and used the over mold version on my duty Glock 22 for 20 years of professional law enforcement. I love it on my Desert Eagle. I love the grip and feel of the Hogue rubber.

I own an older Mk.XIX, specifically a DE44CA. These fit, and give a nice positive grip. They feel like they will cushion recoil well, but they make the pistol feel 3x more secure in your grip. It's a massive improvement over the slick hard plastic factory grips.FYI: There are rubber pads on the inside that keep the magazine from dropping free. I would've removed them first had I known, but I don't see myself reloading this cannon in a hurry anyway.Also, these don't come with instructions, but they're pretty easy to install once you've removed the factory grips. There's a small plastic piece with two threaded holes for screws. This slots in between two prongs on the back of the magazine well. Then you stretch the grips onto the pistol and tighten the screws.Removing the factory grips is a huge pain. It's not hogue's fault, of course, but if you buy these you're going to need to get the hard plastic grips off first. It varies by model - the DE44CA is the older Israeli-made design with a weaver rail instead of picatinny. The general idea is to pull them off the back. Anyway, on the DE44CA the old grips are kind of springy and clamp down on the pistol pretty hard. They also have two clips keeping them from sliding rearward - they grab against the hole in the frame. If you look up the magazine well you can see them. I slid a couple old laminated cards in from the back to help the clips get over the lip of the hole, and then used a punch to depress the grip retention pin (the hole on the butt of the pistol). I could then wiggle the grips off of the frame. It was still a pain, but doable for one person with strong hands. Still, totally worth it.
