Gorgeous, sturdy, flip‑height stool… but my kid’s glutes are not impressed (yet) 😂
As a family‑medicine doc and mom of a chronically constipated kiddo, I spend more time talking about poop than the average human. So when I went hunting for a “pooping assist device,” I wanted something that was sturdy, not plasticky, and didn’t scream “GI issues live here” to every guest who uses our bathroom. Enter this Squatty Potty Bamboo Flip Stool. What I love: • Packaging & assembly: Arrived in its original box, no damage. All pieces were neatly packed. Once you line up the panels, it’s wildly easy to assemble—screws and protective caps go in smoothly. I had it fully put together in just a few minutes. • Design & aesthetics: The bamboo is beautiful in person. It looks like intentional bathroom furniture, not medical equipment. If you walked into our bathroom, you’d just think “oh, nice stool,” not “someone here needs help pooping.” • Flip feature (two heights): I really appreciate that you can flip it for a lower or higher position. That makes it more versatile for different toilet heights and for kids vs adults. The “real life” part: I originally bought this for my daughter who struggles with constipation. She was willing to try it (small miracle), but once she got into position, she felt like the angle put more pressure on her legs and glutes from the toilet seat. So for her body and our toilet, it wasn’t instantly comfortable, and she’s not a fan… yet. My plan is to pair this with a cushioned toilet seat and see if that solves the pressure issue. Worst case, the adults in the house get a very classy way to optimize bathroom biomechanics. Bottom line: Beautiful, sturdy, easy to assemble, and I love the two‑height flip feature. For our family, it’s a win aesthetically and structurally, but we’re still troubleshooting comfort for my constipated kiddo. I’d still call it a solid, well‑made upgrade over plastic options—and a nice, discreet addition to any bathroom.

Easy to assemble. Nice finish.
Easy to put together. Finish is smooth and attractive. I like that I can change heights. Sturdy. Not foldable, nice size and weight.

Works Great
I've been having a major problem with constipation and diverticulitis to the point of dreading to have a bowel movement. I watch my diet and stay hydrated. But I am old and sedentary. Things just don't work like they used to. But I am not into the doctoring thing with their procedures and harsh medications. I read about Squatty Potty on the NY Times and immediately came to Amazon and ordered one. I had great success the first time I used it. I've had it almost a week with no more problems. I'm so glad I bought this. I chose this one because of the flip option and sturdiness. I'm 5'5" and the 9" side works for me. As for assembly, I suggest you put all the pieces together before inserting the screws so you get it right the first time. It was easy to assemble.

Can't believe I waited this long to purchase
The best investment you can make for your toilet time. Good quality. Eat to put the 4 pieces together. Looks good, not cheap. Grips well to not move when using it, but easy to move out to use after seated. This version does not fold, it can flip for two different height toilets. You'll have the best poops of your life using the Squatty Potty. I would gift it to everyone if I could.

Great unless your feet are big
Sturdy and well-designed, except that it's a bit awkward if you have large feet, especially if you've rotated it to its taller position. I'd prefer a larger version of this, maybe a 9" and an 11" height.

My throne is complete!
Bidet + Squatty Potty is the perfect combination for your throne. I first thought it might be too wide (I accidentally kick it sometimes) but it was perfect for the actual use. Makes me go comfortably, easier, and dare I say, cleaner! Wish I had this post cholecystectomy to help me go easier without having to worry about pushing too hard that it may open the internal wound. During assembly, if you find it hard to turn the allen wrench that comes with it, try using the other side (turning the longer side for better leverage/pivot). Such an ingenious invention! A must for every throne!

Works really well
I've had this for a few weeks now and love it. I used to have one of the original plastic versions, but I like this one more. Being able to flip it over to have a different height is great for the other people in my household that have shorter legs. Like other people mentioned, this is not something you want to put your weight on. If you've got kids that are going to try to stand up on it, you might need something a little more heavy duty. But for adults that know not to use it as a stool, it is fantastic for what it's supposed to be. You some caution when putting it together, because some of the edges do have splinters. But once it's together, there's no risk of getting them in your feet. They are only on the machine edges.

Worth it!
This is great quality. Its dove tail is not perfect but it works. It might be best just to put a bread of clear caulk where the 2 sides meet. It is sturdy, the flip is perfect, it is beautiful and takes up minimal space. It is a great upgrade from our old squatty potty. And it really done help you go #2

Ausgezeichnet. Erfüllt seinen Zweck perfekt. Die zwei Höhenoptionen sind super und erleichtern die Bewegung deutlich. Leicht, stabil und einfach zu reinigen. Excellent. Does the job perfectly. The two height options are great and really help with movement. Lightweight, sturdy, and easy to clean.

Not bamboo. Not big enough for standard toilets.

I've bought and assembled three of these bamboo squatty pottys - two for me and then one as a gift. I love them, they look good, will help you do the best poos of your life, and afterwards tuck away so neatly against the toilet bowl. They were easy to put together for a complete novice like me, and actually kinda fun. I'm 51kg and put my whole weight on them while squatting over the dunny, and they feel completely safe and solid. I'm sure they could easily take more weight too, but I haven't asked anyone to test that out...

I have been told to use a squatty potty from numerous people who swear by it. And I'll be the first to admit that the unicorn advertisement convinced me it was worth it. But I hated the way they looked so when I found this wooden one online I decided to give it a try. Yes it's a little pricey but I think the benefits you get from it over time is worth it. When it arrived it did require some assembling but I was able to do it very quickly without any help from my husband. The directions they provide are very clear. You can also decide to set it to different heights depending on the type of toilet you have. It tucks nicely under the toilet seat and also looks great. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to benefits it offers but also want something that's nice enough to keep out.
