Size up if close to max?
I recommend sizing up if you’re on the cusp - I bought a L/XL based on the size chart, and it pops open if I bend my torso. I do need to work on my weight, so I’m keeping it for that day when I slim down. In the meantime, since the bellybutton part is detachable, I’ve popped it into my c-section recovery band.

SCRATCHY AND NOT SO COMFORTABLE..
I didn't like this binder and had to return. It is scratchy against my skin, and most of the time realistically you won't put it over your clothes????? It also rode up alot and having hernia surgery recently, I need to feel comfortable...RETURNED.

Used for hiatal hernia surgery.
While I was in the hospital for the night after hiatal hernia surgery, one of the nurses suggested I get a belly wrap, because jiggling fat would hurt. I ordered it as soon as I got home, just the ride home from the hospital proved she was right that it would hurt.I had it delivered the next day, and it was immediately helpful. I wore it over a t-shirt so as to not brush against the surgical incisions. I wore it constantly for the first week, and then now and then over the next week. One drawback (and to be honest, I don't see how this could have been avoided) was that it would crease after a bit, and that would hurt. I found if I folded it, and put it under the couch cushion I was sitting on for half an hour or so, it flattened back out. So there was an easy remedy, but I just thought I should mention it. I personally would not have gotten a second one, but if, for example, you had had a hysterectomy, I might think about getting two so you can alternate.

Hernia Support
Measure waist area where belt will be placed. While it does have plenty of stretch the belt should have about 6” overlap for good support. Made well and is machine washable. Hang up to dry.

can also be worn for inguinal hernia
my mom has two inguinal hernias; Dr's refuse to operate because of her age (95) and sensitivity to drugs. She's not in pain but it does bother her. Her mental faculties aren't the same since the stroke so I often search for ways to help her. Came across hernia belts and was amazed her dr didn't mention it (other people's comments said the same). The belts for inguinal hernias looked like torture devices from the dark ages. Those weren't designed for someone wearing incontinence panties. I chose this one and prayed it wouldn't slide up or down. But it only had one pressure pad. I asked the company if I could buy a 2nd, and bless them, they sent another belt cos they don't sell the pads separately. After explaining the belt 3,4 times to her, I got it on, and thank God it stayed in place during the night. After a couple nights of wearing it, I'll start having her wear it throughout the day now that she's getting used to it. A thousand thanks, and God bless this company/sellers for helping me with my mom.

NOPE! Permanent wrinkle, edges cut skin, even through extra clothing.
This belt was permanently wrinkled within a few days. The upper and lower edges are extremely sharp, and actually cut my skin, even though I had a knit shirt under it every time I wore it.If any bit of the rough Velcro is exposed. It will damage anything you wear over it. I actually had a tank top over it, and it is now ruined. Having to wear two layers and then your main clothing is not comfortable.I do not recommend this one! Keep shopping.
