my 2nd Double Stack cage from A&E - great cage, poor instructions
Item reviewed: A and E Double Stack Flight Bird Cage PlatinumDate reviewed: July 2, 2023I got my first double stack flight cage from A&E about six years ago. Due to having about six parakeets and one cockatiel, the cage was pretty well soiled, despite weekly cleanings. The parakeets live in the upper half, and our 19-year old cockatiel in the lower half. The one went together a little easier than the previous one, but there was still one bent piece. The instructions are not good. Nothing is labeled; the screws nor the panels. Luckily, the top and bottom of the cage are identical, so you don't have to worry about that. Quality of materials is good, but expect a bent piece occasionally. My only real complaint is that the bottom space is 1" shorter (height-wise) and I can no longer fit my plastic bins at the bottom. The previous cage had a 6" high opening at the bottom, this one has a 5" high opening, which makes it nearly impossible to find storage bins that will fit. This is a big, sturdy cage. I opted for the platinum color this time, as the white one seems to have paint wear more than other colors. One of my parakeets stripped the paint off one of the bars of the white one, and the grate at the bottom was bare of paint in many spots. I hope the platinum color holds up better.Space wise, this cage is huge and allows for a TON of room. I like the double stack cages because I keep two kinds of birds. The platinum is a really nice color. Hope to have this one longer than six years.

Good luck with assembly
As some of the other reviews touched on, the assembly of the cage is definitely the most annoying thing about this product. We were lucky in having only one slightly bent piece on the upper cage side panels, but there was a problem with the top wire where it looked like they tapped the top and bottom of it incorrectly, which doesn’t allow a screw to go through and therefore can’t secure the top wire there correctly. The forward facing part of the top wire also has a tapped hole that doesn’t align with the top part of the front facing wire, so again another issue with how the product was manufactured. The instructions are absolute dog ****, unclear with terrible pictures and even worst English. The little crescent wrench they included isn’t even large enough to hug around the nut they included for some of the bolts. Overall pretty disappointing coming from a company like A&E, especially for the amount of money this cage went for
