It is the ideal width, just over a quarter inch. Wider blades tend to split items like bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms, while narrower blades allow these items to spin. The only flaw is the approximately 5" twisted part of the blade on the handle end, effectively reducing the useable part of the blade from 17" to 12". I don't see what purpose the twisted part serves, as the heavy gauge and rigidity of the stainless steel makes that feature pointless, while reducing the functionality quite a lot. Like I said, this is the best skewer I've found, but if they'd reduce or eliminate that twist, it'd be perfect. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for larger items, not so much for smaller pieces *by L***N on Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2020* I bought these to replace the use of small wooden skewers. As my title implies, these will work great on larger pieces like beef, pork and some chicken. They are too large to accommodate smaller like shrimp and cut-up vegetables.
