Because the toy is really hard, I would think that it was some sort plastic type material...but, again there is no way of finding out what the toy is made from. After asking the company myself, I received the answer that it was made of "non-toxic" ingredients, but no listing of ingredients was given. **Q: does it last for a pit bull that likes to chew** A: I have a pit bull and this is the only thing that he hasn’t chewed up into pieces. He works hard to get the little bits off. He has an incredible urge to chew so he uses his several times a day and during the night. It lasts about two weeks before I have to purchase another. It gets shorter as he works on it and at that time I’m afraid he will swallow it. But this is the only product that I trust for him. **Q: Other than wood, what is this made of?
