The 1.1 gives a slight bit of line variation, but normal cursive writing can be difficult to destinguish from a normal nib. This 1.5mm hits the sweet spot I was looking for perfectly. It's far less subtle, my cursive looks written with a stub. It also makes writing more Gothic style fonts easier. It's still small enough that daily journal entries can be written at a reasonable size and stay quite legible. On top of that, this nib retains a nice, smooth feel on paper. Lamy hasn't made it a knife-blade style nib. You can write as quick and carefree as with any other nib. Side benefit: Shading inks look so nice coming out of this nib!
