An Excellent History Book
This book is very good, very informative, and has excellent appendices. There is also great maps and good explanations.

What an amazing book
I bought this to add to my Byzantine book collection and wow it is full of information. Comparing to some of my other books, I found this one to have a slew of new information. So glad I purchased.

Fantastic Byzantine Empire book.
Excellent book full of content all about the empire. I highly recommend that if the Byzantine Empire is a perennial interest for you, you start with this book. This work gives you such a comprehensive overview that you will have a better understanding of where you may want to dive further into the history of this amazing and unique empire. It’s a wee bit on the pricey side but it’s far and away worth the money. This amount of knowledge I would have paid a substantial amount of money for. The price point is a steal.

The content of book is perfect. Already in introduction there are explained the basic relation inside the empire. UPS is the worst transport company, especially in Czech Republic. They have severely damaged the parcel, one time even with content.

The Roman Empire in the west fell in the mid 400s. It continued in the guise of the Eastern Roman Empire from the mid 400s to the mid 1400s . The Eastern Roman Empire was also known as the Byzantine Empire. The Roman Emperor Justinian was just after Rome fell in the late 5th century but was also one of the first of the Byzantine Emperors.
