I would compare this to a good solid cutting board, but not too thick and heavy. It’s just right. And it’s nice and large, with a good quality removable pad underneath. I advise caution removing the glue spot that holds the label on, I tried to scrub it off with a scotch green pad and water and it just smeared. If you get a flawed one exchange or return it. The width is also perfect because it fits nicely between the arms of my leather recliner. I had a small issue with the first item but their customer service was beyond excellent and took care of my concerns immediately. A definite must have for using a laptop in your lap. Finally, the cushion underneath is very comfortable and shapes itself to the contours of your legs.
