Newentor Projection Alarm Clock

After complete setup the projection didn't work. Much time was spent using the very poor manual and trying to get it to work. It didn't even light up. The best written sentence in the manual is in the Guarantee and states that "The device has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines and meticulously examined before delivery". But there is no contact website or phone number for support. The manufacturer, FanJu(?), guarantees the warranty for 1 "years" but there is no documentation of how or where to make contact.Update 9/3/2020I was pleased to be contacted by the seller after my previous review. They were very concerned about customer satisfaction and sent a replacement of the Newentor Projection Alarm Clock at no charge. I have set it up with no problems. I like the features of the Newentor and they all work well including the projection. There is an update of the user manual which is much improved over the previous manual included in the box. It is available on their web site and I printed it.

This is a very functional little clock, and the weather 'stations' have good range. There is a lot of customization in terms of units, scale limits, snooze duration, etc. The only downside is that it is very lightweight, so it's very easy to knock over with its tiny snooze button (if you use its alarm). The weather 'forecast' function is a bit silly (not useful) to me, but doesn't take away from it's overall appeal.Now the important part, and why this clock gets 5 stars - the customer/product support. The one I ordered had an issue with its backup battery compartment; it wouldn't recognize if a battery was installed. I emailed the manufacturer per the instruction booklet, and I received a response within 12 hours. I was walked through additional troubleshooting steps, but nothing tedious. Once I confirmed there was no improvement, I was offered a replacement, no frills, no fuss. And that's exactly what I got. The best feature of the whole experience was the consistent communication throughout.A good product from a great company!

I am just loving this device. I don't sleep well and frequently wake up in the middle of the night. In the winter, I can't tell whether it's the morning or the middle of the night. I used to have to roll over and turn on the light for my alarm clock to see what time it was. Later, I got an Echo dot (for various reasons) and would ask that what time it is. Now ... the time is just right there, on the ceiling, over my head, which is much less disruptive if it is the middle of the night. I go back to sleep much more easily. The light is always enough to see it, but does not in any way disrupt my sleep. The projection can be angled, so you can point the time anywhere you want it, not just directly above the place where the device sits. It's nice to know when I wake up in the morning what the temperature is outside, and it's always within a degree or two of what the morning news says, so I know it's accurate (now that I have it set up correctly, with the display pointed inside and the back pointed outside). And either I am sleeping better since getting this or it is just so easy that I fall back asleep without even remembering that I woke up.I knocked off one star because the instructions are not very clear (and I'm a computer programmer, so I know how to follow instructions). I got it set up the way I want it, with trial and error, but clearer instructions would have been helpful. But now that I have it set up the way I want it, I am really loving this.

Buy this for the clock and ignore the weather station.It ticks almost all the boxes I'd like to tick in a clock:Has battery back and a low-battery alertHas WWVB for automatic, accurate time settingHas a projection featureVariable display brightnessAlarms can be configured to run 7 days a week, or weekdays or weekends only. (I would wish for more customizable days, but it seems nobody is doing that anymore.)The only feature it lacks as a clock is a sleep timer (say "wake me in 60 minutes").As a weather station... you can put the transmitter right next to the base and they will report different temperatures, and both will report temperatures that are inaccurate with reality by a few degrees. It's a rough guide only, not a precision instrument.The forecast segment is a complete joke. Knowing temperature and humidity is not enough to produce an accurate forecast for cloud cover and such, let alone in the vastly different conditions one encounters in the world (eg, marine layer by the Pacific Coast vs. high-elevation Rockies). Thankfully you can mostly disable it in the settings.

I love this clock. I was looking for something that had a clean, colorful digital display and that projected the time on the ceiling of the bedroom. I wanted to see the time in the middle of the night by simply opening my eyes without craning my neck. But I also wanted to be able to read the clock from across the room in the daylight.This clock does all of that. Plus it shows indoor and outdoor temperatures, indoor/outdoor humidity, and a very basic visual forecast. The display shows a lot of information without being too busy.I would be 100% satisfied with this clock if it had an auto-dimming feature and if it didn't intermittently go blank for up to three minutes at a shot. The display face has three brightness settings. It can also be turned off. I need the brightest setting for full daylight, but that is too bright for nighttime. I dim it to the lowest setting before going to bed. It would be awesome if the clock sensed ambient light and adjusted accordingly. We have other devices that do so.My main gripe is that both the display screen and the projection intermittently turn off. It seems to only happen on the hour two or three times in a 24-hour cycle, but not consistently on any given hour. Both displays will come back on after 2-3 minutes without the clock losing time or other settings. Weird.
