Pediatric OT The Guide For The New Clinician [Bender, Angela] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Pediatric OT The Guide For The New Clinician Review: Great guide for the new pediatric OT! - Angela does a great job giving relevant advice for new pediatric OT's without overwhelming them. The way the book is written is easy to understand and gives you immediate ideas to begin implementing in your work as a pediatric occupational therapist. I'll be using this as reference material for a long time to come! Review: Wonderful Book - Angela has done a wonderful job in summarizing some of the key areas of pediatric OT! I have been an OT for 18 years and am hoping to transition to pediatric or school based therapy and this book gives a fantastic overview. I like how the end of each chapter has a summary of key points. Additionally as I am a member of Angela's intro mentoring facebook group, I appreciate her sincere desire to help those of us entering this practice setting. One suggestion for a future edition would be to include a chapter on the variety of continuing education courses out there.

Well Done!
Thank you so much for writing this book! As an OT transitioning into pediatrics after 23 years of working with adults, this book has answered so many important questions for me. I appreciate having the information at my fingertips! This guide is well organized and easy to navigate! Bravo!

Not Helpful
I would say the book is "cute" as in, it's generic, not helpful. Granted, this is for pediatrics in general not focused on a specific age range, diagnoses, or setting. It didn't tell you how to go about knowing what typical development actually looks like or how to go about identifying what the underlying skill the child is having difficulty with, for example how can you differentiate a child has decreased hand strength vs it being a proprioceptive issue resulting in poor modulation of force? How to determine motor planning difficulties, etc. or intervention ideas, which I thought it would be a guide book through that so it could help me use my critical thinking skills.. instead it just tells me to use them... which isn't helpful.... so, it's a nice general book but if you're looking for something with depth search elsewhere.

Not worth it
Not extremely helpful. Just contains basic information that practitioners are already aware of. Not worth it
