Forget the headaches and get the True Latch Brace !
Although it's not me, for the tried-and-true DIYer, they will barely need the instrcutions in order to install this gate brace. If I was more mechanical I would have been able to have this brace attached to our gate in 15 minutes; however, being that I'm just average I think it was more like 45 minutes. This brace comes with very high quality lag screws, two metal rods (at least in the case of the 6' brace), and everything (except the tools) you need to start using it within an hour. I would tell new buyers to definitely follow the advice in the instructions of pre-lifting the gate (with a shovel and/or lever) before completing the installation of the brace. This will provide the best operation of this brace (and probably reduce the number of later adjustments you might ever have to do). For quickest install, it's best to have an impact driver (and its 3/8" screw bit), a drill (with metal bit), and an adjustable wrench. I think the instructions call for use of a hammer, but with the above, there's no need for one. (By the by, if you don't have an impact driver, you can get by with a ratchet set, but it will take a bit longer, instead of just seconds to mount your lag screws.) > Some recommendations : (1) Prior you fully fastening the main (top-part) brace to the gate, make sure that you will have space to, later, slide the extension section into the bottom of the main brace : if you don't check this first, then you may have to remove the top-part of the brace in order to install the extension piece into it (instead : just mount the top rod with one screw first, then you can swivel it about while inserting the extension into the bottom of the top rod). (2) I found it helpful to tape measure the exact diagonal along which I was going to install the brace; I then penciled in, on the gate, the spots where I'd drill to make it easy when it was time to finally put the lag screws in. (3) definitely consider the 'shovel test' mentioned in the instructions. If you don't, and your gate was already severely lagging, it WILL require many more turns of the adjustment screw in order to bring the bottom of the gate to a reasonable level, and it's really best to align the gate well first, with a shovel or lever, so that the brace functions the way it was designed to work) If you don't do this first, there may be undesirable twisting that you'll, later, be subjecting the gate to that you don't really want to have. I also recommend, although it's optional, to install the provided center bracket. It ensures that the installation is as secure as possible and nicely stiffens up the brace (especially good thing for folks like us that live in hurricane country). These are easy steps, and well worth the few extra minutes. I would definitely buy this product again !

Strong and Effective.
These were easy to install and they do keep my gates from sagging. Easy to adjust so the gate latches securely now and I don’t worry about it drooping again. Well made product that I am happy to have bought - there are cheaper alternatives but these are worth the price.

Really happy with the result!
These solved my issues with sagging gates at my driveway. I had a new gate installed about 6 months ago and the installer told me to put some wheels on the bottom to support the weight and they wouldn't sag. Not only did they sag but they started to lean at the same time. I looked at a few options that might have been a little cheaper but I figured this American made, solid metal option would be the best and I'm glad I did. I raised the gates at the center at least 2" and now the wheels I installed first don't even touch the ground! They've been on about a week and I'm quite pleased. The install wasn't bad but you definitely need a drill, some drill bits and a socket wrench (10mm) to get the job done. The end result was a solid, level gate that doesn't sag and drag like it did even with wheels installed. Instructions were easy to follow.

A very simple to install product that solved our sagging front gate problem. Looks good and has not required adjustment. Much easier to work with than tensioned wire. Highly recommend.

This device instantly corrected my sagging gate door. It's easy to install too - just two lag bolts on each end and two self-tapping bolts to secure the telescoping pieces in the middle. I didn't even need to turn the adjustment bolt because I had the gate propped up on supports when I fastened the telescoping pieces, so it was already the correct length. When I removed the supports, the gate didn't sag at all.
