Just test it out with the mugs you are using to make sure the distance works. **Q: How long are screws? I dont want them poking through the cabinet.** A: I love them but they do poke through a bit. May trim them or purchase separate screws? **Q: Could they hold pots and pans?** A: I don't know this for sure, but I think they would. **Q: Has anyone tried mounting these with command strips?** A: I tried with industrial strength velcro and it failed under the weight of two mugs. I don't think the command strip stickies would fare any better.
