The cord is very soft, but sturdy. I was pulling relatively hard on it to ensure that it stayed wrapped around the handles in the picture. I used super glue every now and then to make sure it held and it was thick enough that it didn’t just leak through and show on the other side.I used this to wrap the handles of a basket I put together to carry around the renaissance faire. The wicker was likely to be irritating considering the weather and the weight of the metal dabloons I was carrying in the little coin purse. It softened the handles immensely and didn’t irritate or chafe after 4 hours of wearing it in the crook of my elbow.I also used it to replace the laces that originally came with the skirt I wore to the faire. It held nicely there too and secured the dress more comfortably. These as laces had a little more give to them while somehow feeling more durable. Plus it added a little more rural edge to the skirt.
