A decent solution for getting more lumens out of a fixturel
LED lights, the greatest thing since Edison. Cheap, earth friendly, and practical. EXCEPT: sizes over 60 watt equivalent get expensive. To the rescue come these little splitters which enable 120 watt equivalent from a single output. Given that combined wattage requirements are still modest, with maybe 18 watts of draw. I have seen no issues with circuit breakers. The drawback is that even contemporary lamp shades can be a tight fit. You definitely do not want the bulbs to touch the shade fabric. So these splitters are really a temorary bodge.. until the industry produces sub $2 100 watt equivalent LED's.

Cheap product that works well with my seedling bulbs, and gooseneck extenders.
While I don’t actually love this product, it works exactly as I expected it to, and I don’t have any complaints about it. I use it for starting seedlings with these mini bulbs: https://www.amazon.com/review/R3GX4ZDE3Z90HU/ref=pe_1098610_137716200_cm_rv_eml_rv0_rv, as well as these gooseneck extenders: http://www.amazon.com/Extension-Flexible-Gooseneck-Converter-Extender/dp/B012I6NQC2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00.PROS:-Pack of three. I’m currently only using two, so it’s nice to have an extra one for when I need it later.-Works exactly as described. No issues with it burning or smoking, though I’m using lower wattage bulbs.CONS:-Cheaply made, but priced accordingly; there’s already a hairline crack on one. It still works, though.-There’s a sweet spot for where the bulb needs to be, otherwise you have to finagle it a little for the light to turn on.

Substitute for 3-way bulbs
Simple, works fine. I use these in table lamps, some of which have 3-way switches/sockets. I typically leave only one LED (40-60 watt equivalent) screwed in all the way and a second bulb in place but not in electrical contact. I screw-in the 2nd bulb for reading or other brighter light needs. Because LEDs don't get very hot, turning a bulb off by partially unscrewing it is not a problem (as it is with incandescents). If you use 2 bulbs of different wattage, you can simulate a 3-way bulb. Using a 40- and a 75-watt equivalent LED allows choice of 40, 75, and 115 (eq) watts.

A little more technical description for you....
Decent for the price. I personally will only use these with CFL or LED lamps, I feel the plastic _may_ not do well with high temps. Notice that the sockets are not at right angle (90 °). Not an issue for most users but if you are stacking them to get a certain angle it may matter to you. The "hot" contact (bottom center of socket) is the extended tab type , which can be be be slightly bent to allow "clocking" it to get the final amount of rotation you desire.

It could have been packed better by Amazon
Arrived quickly. One was broke, but I was able to use it, hence the 1 star reduction. It could have been packed better by Amazon. The person who packed the box put them in loose with a heavy item that just ended up breaking one of these. Otherwise, the sockets work great. I put two 100 watt equivalent CFLs in them and it lights up the basement so much better than the one 60 watt regular bulb. And wattage wise, it's using less watts than the 60 watt incadescent. Yeah - it's a win-win situation.

These are great for providing additional light to darker areas with a single bulb installation. When I purchased these I had recently moved into an older home with minimal lighting and severely outdated fixtures. After investing in several new fixtures in my more visible areas, I was looking for a cost effective solution. I purchased these for my closets and pantry. I’ve found them perfect for those areas, as they aren’t exactly attractive but provide great additional lighting to those areas where you aren’t as concerned about the appearance of the fixture.

Great for Mounting 2 LED Bulbs in a Single Socket
I'm using these in the garage and basement so I can have two 60 watt equivalent LED bulbs in place of a 100 watt incandescent. I get about the same amount of light using a fraction of the electricity, and the 60 watt LEDs plus one of these adapters cost much less than a single 100 watt equivalent LED bulb. These adapters can easily accept two 100 watt equivalent LEDs which would give off a tremendous amount of light (3200 lumens). In use, their appearance is somewhat industrial but they are highly functional.
