Excellent Product, plant-based, food-safe, and perfect for vegetable beds
I'm rebuilding my raised beds using Douglas Fir because redwood costs were prohibitive. By simply painting on two coats of this sealer, I think I doubled the life of the raised beds. I live in a dry climate, but the vegetables get regular water. Raw wood would have last three to five years, but after sealing them, I believe they will last seven to ten years if not longer. I had no problem with stickiness even though I was generous with the sealer. It was a quick easy job and so worth the money. Plus, the boards look much better! Great food-safe sealer!

Nice sealant
I used this to stain my wood for my vertical container garden. It went on very smoothly and added a nice color to the wood. It dried quickly and has a pleasant smell. I cant speak to its longevity yet, but I am hopeful it will extend the life of my wood.

A Win Win. Great protection for my wood and animals.
I really like this sealer. It went on very nicely and dried relatively quickly. I was concerned because I was trying to rush getting sone wood sealed before rain storms over night. I woke up and there was lots of beading and pooling on my projects. It seemed to easily soak into wood everywhere I put it making me think that my wood will be durable for may years. Only thing I wish I had done was get the stain to add to it but I was in a rush. No problems with streaking but that may be because of the no stain thing. When I work on my garden beds at the end of the year I will probably get this again, with stain. It will give it a great look and keep my 2 x 6's from rooting out for years to come.

If you have rough plain wood buy more than you think you need. It will suck up the oil big time.!
I had a large custom-made cedar raised bed for me. I wanted to make sure that after spending that kind of money. (and I will be buying two more as I can afford) that I was able to seal the wood and hopefully have it last longer and not fade as quickly I noticed other reviewers talked about a strong smell. It does have a smell. I donโt think itโs particularly strong and not at all unpleasant. To me it kind of smells like maybe cherry candy or something. Beware: if you have sand wasps, they seem to like the smell. It is early in the season for us to have this kind of insect, but one was out, and it would not leave me or the garden bed alone while I was doing the application. (thankfully it will be another month before these guys are out in full force, and Iโll have the bed done by then. Hopefully theyโre not continually attracted to it.!) Now down to the nitty-gritty. The theoretical application amount is probably for smooth sanded wood. Mini garden beds are rough cleaned, which is what most of mine is except for the top rail. That absolutely soaks up the oil like nobodyโs business and it also makes application difficult. The little foam roller I bought was OK for some areas but couldnโt handle heavy grain. Paint brush is best for corners and grooves and things like that. If it was a small garden box, it wouldnโt be that big of a deal but application became very time-consuming. Because of the build of my garden bed, I could not use a regular roller. I tried a small foam roller, but it didnโt hold up. Paintbrush worked well for grooved sections, but was too slow on the rest. Ultimately I got out a clean spray bottle, and that worked sort of, but what I really needed was an airless sprayer to make fast work of this without wasting the product. The first day I worked I covered an 8 x 2โ area which is just one side of my bed. Because the application was a challenge. I literally overapplied thinking I would wipe off the access the next day. The wood is so rough it just sucked up all of the excess product, which is not necessarily bad, but when I came back to complete the project, I realize that even though I bought a large container and according to the product information, I shouldโve used half of the container or maybe a little more.. I still have more work to do and itโs likely I will completely run out of the product by the time I get all the nooks and crannies and the underside, etc. My garden bed has sanded trim on the top that I can sit on smaller but sanded trim on the bottom and the vertical planks are not side-by-side their overlapped so one is lower than the Next is higher than the Next is lower and that was the real problem, besides the rough cut wood. Lots of nooks and crannies that have to be covered and horizontal surfaces where water could sit. And on a final note, I really like the look of the wood once itโs been treated. I hope the product helps it, maintain its color and not just fade out.

Great product. Wear a mask!!
Took forever for the proper time to do this so been awhile since purchase. I used this outside, very easy to apply, however, the smell will get to you very quickly. Super strong odor. Works beautifully so can overcome that issue. Have not done the second coat yet as waiting for an additional shelf to add and will also need this so will wait but the finish is nice and soft . Would definitely use on other projects.

Trust me, don't buy this.
I'd give this 0 stars if I could. Not only is the smell absolutely pungent like a trash bin full of fruit on a 90-degree day, but the 4 expensive cedar garden beds I just put this on are not even water-resistant. There is absolutely no difference between what has been stained and what has not when wet EXCEPT the god-awful smell that will not go away. These are sitting outside, I've sprayed them down with water, wiped them down with a towel, and let them sit in the wind and even still if I just briefly touch it, my hands smell like this sealer. So does my sweater from touching it for less than a minute. I'm honestly doubting if I should even plant vegetables in these beds anymore. I rarely leave reviews, but I feel so duped by this. If you're using cedar and want something non-toxic, just don't even stain it. Major regrets.

Very good non-toxic wood sealer.
This sealer worked very well. It highlighted the grain in the cedar I used. Very easy to apply also.

Worth trying!!!
I applied the product yesterday to some bamboo trellis and tomato stakes. I'm not sure if it'll last 10 years or not. Though the product is very oily and THE SMELL IS VERY PLEASANT!!!๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป With that said, it is pricey so hopefully it'll go on sale from time because it's at least worth trying. Especially when growing a garden of vegetables or have animals.

Good product.
Easy to apply and kinda smells like candy. Definitely use a drop clothe to avoid staining the ground. The smell is lingering even after 2 weeks but the planter looks great and is now very water resistant.

Great product
Easy to use. Great results. Cedar planters look great and seem well protected. It does give off a strong smell initially but lessens in time.

Nice Product, but make sure applied the item outside the house.
Because still is the winter time here, I applied to my raise bed's wood before I put them together & sitting inside the house for a few hours. Smell is fine. Don't have headache for first hour. But after 3 hours ,the smell filled the room and made me uncomfortable. So make sure apply and sit it outside of the house. Result colour is nice after applied.
