One of my walking shoes developed a leakage though no holes was visible. I sprayed the Scotchgard deliberately, let it dry, then sprayed again. The shoes don't let water in anymore. I used it also on a couple of jackets. I was pleased there was no streaks left on the clothes and the waterproofing was very good. The spray does have a strong chemical smell so you need to use it in a well-aired place. Outside or on the balcony is fine. I think it's quite expensive at £10 a bottle. The smell is horrific and the fumes almost choked me to death.
