Review: Powerful! Accurate. A Bit Noisier Than Expected. - This is a powerful air rifle, probably too powerful for what I need, but my last air rifle was 40 years ago & things have come a long way in the mean time! On reflection I should've bought the less powerful Swarm Whisper, but like I said I wasn't aware of how far these Nitro Piston rifles have come....not that I'm complaining! It handles well, seems robust, trigger is usable (hopefully it improves with use) & yeah, powerful! It is noisier than I expected, but this thing throws pellets HARD. I'm still zeroing in the scope, but accuracy certainly seems to be there with GAMO Red Top pellets. The scope is cheap & basic, but it works fine, being nice & clear, bright, holds zero & has a good zoom range. I see no need to replace it so it's staying on there. I have to say that I'll probably add the Whisper version, too, as I'm using it for rodent control & for smaller vermin like rats that'd be better, with the Swarm Magnum in 22 cal being best for longer ranges & bigger sized targets. But I'm keeping this one, oh yeah I'm impressed.

**Q: What is the difference between the magnum the maxxim amd.the whisper?**
A: Some big points the first answer missed 
1. Whisper has fixed power non adjustable focus scope with smaller diameter objective lens and smaller FOV 4x30 vs 3-9x42 
2. Maxxim has much better two stage adjustable trigger. Whisper has mushy sloshy crap single stage non adjustable trigger with a mile of take up and play. 
3. Maxxim has better mag, it’s horizontal and lower profile, more reliable because it’s gas operated and easier to load vs the spring loaded one in the Whisper. 
4. Maxxim has better stock with upgraded shoulder pad and magazine compartment which is nice if you don’t have a gun case so you don’t have loose mags laying around. 
Everything else is the same, between Maxxim and Whisper but the trigger and scope are worth it alone. Also, the whisper can be had for 120 from Wally World.
Now the Magnum has a more powerful gas system and shoots much faster, it also has better sound dampening in the barrel and doesn’t have that chincy plastic shroud and is all steel except the muzzle device. Also the Magnum has a different stock with a thumb hole style that is very nice. The scope and trigger are the same as the Maxxim. Everything else is an upgrade over the Whisper. The Maxxim is the best value for shooting experience, the Magnum is best for outright speed, and the Fusion is a rip off and not worth the money or time as it’s just a Maxxim with a Magnum stock and muzzle device and the slowest shooting out of the Swarm family.

**Q: Why cant this item be shipped to my address? My state has no restriction.s**
A: Amazon is inconsistent about restrictions. There are some airguns they won't ship to my state (California) even tho the item isn't restricted. ... Try Pyramyd Air, BudK, the Airgun Depot, eBay, etc. ... In one case, the airgun (pistol) included an add-on shoulder stock. Well, in Calif shoulder stocks FOR FIREARM PISTOLS are prohibited. But not for airguns. So someone decided the prohibition applies to airguns too. The same airgun with shoulder stock can be bought elsewhere. Inconsistent and just wrong information.

**Q: This will definitely be the generation 2 right? I see another review where someone was sent the g3i with no open sights I want the g 2**
A: Mine was gen 2. Just understand, with the scope mounted you can't use the open sites at the same time. If you have the opportunity to buy an extra magazine at time of purchase, you should. They are really hard to come by later and stupid expensive.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great break barrel pellet gun.

This pellet rifle is wonderful, especially paired with the Gamo swarm 10x hollow point pellets. I'm hitting targets at 50y no problem. The scope is OK, but I've ordered me an upgrade. The cocking weight is quite stout, so that will be a drawback for some people. You might want to go ahead and clean the bore when you receive it, mine had some residue from factory testing. So far from my testing, I've had great accuracy from the Gamo swarm 10x pellets, and the Gamo match wadcutters. One pellet for plinking and target shooting, and one for hunting. I have to really push the match pellets into the magazine, but they chamber just fine. There may be some sharp edges in the molded stock seams, just take a sharp edge and trim it back. The rifle is quiet for the power it shoots at, but it definitely isn't silent. Be aware of that. All in all, great gun. Super fun to shoot, and worth every penny.
