## Description

Introduced in 2004, the Iron Stone lighter is a matte finish which is surprisingly smooth for this perceived pebbly texture. This lighter has a texture reminiscent of a rocky terrain or the bottom of a trout stream. Each lighter has a bottom stamp signifying the year it was made, is refillable, and is backed by Zippo's famous lifetime guarantee. All windproof lighters are American made in our Bradford, PA factory and come packaged in a gift box.

Review: Not what I was expecting but a nice Zippo regardless - Unfortunately the 'Iron Stone' lighter does not have a rough surface like the 'Black Crackle' lighter - As I had mistakenly hoped. But the lighter is exactly as pictured. I haven't used it yet so I can't comment on long lasting durability. However, I repacked the wick and cotton. And as far as I can tell the lighter is perfectly fine. For anyone who isn't aware - It's not uncommon for Zippos to have discoloration on the inside of their case. But it doesn't mean the lighter is used. It's just a result of how the lighters are made. Also Zippos are never shipped with fuel inside of them - Regardless of where you buy your Zippo. Shipping new Zippos empty are a safety precaution and the fuel would just evaporate anyway. You can buy fluid for your lighter here on desertcart. There's many videos on YouTube about Zippos - How to fill them with fluid, How to replace a flint or wick, How to store Zippos long term etc. Lastly if your Zippos won't function properly, you can ship it to Zippo and they'll repair it for free.

**Q: How would the texture of this lighter compare to the texture of a matte finish?**
A: It's smooth to the touch like the matte finish is to me.

**Q: Is the product the case and the case alone, or does it include the inner mechanisms such as the housing, wick, flint, and lighter fluid as well?**
A: It Includes the entire Lighter along with the outer shell and Wink and Flint. But no Lighter Fluid as it is inflammable. So whatever we can buy from any store for the usual Zippo, are included in it. And Trust me it's a nice piece. I do have 38 Zippo now as a collector and happy to have this in my collection as well.

**Q: Hello, I bought this product to buy . Shipping makes you free ?**
A: Only Jesus makes you Free. 
But at least the shipping on the Zippo is free of charge, as long as you have Prime.

**Q: Is this like the finish of a spray on bed liner?**
A: So I will be the tie breaker.  It is a fine crinkle finish.  It is not smooth like enamel.  Gives the feel of good slip free grip.

Hey! What can I say? It's a Zippo! I have been using them for decades and will continue to do so. Great lighters, always have been, always will be. Yes, they require "maintenance"- filling them with fluid, putting in new flints when necessary, but are SO dependable....and even when it's windy they always light, many times just using one hand. And there is nothing that sounds like a Zippo, a very distinctive, and yes, a 'calming' sound when opened and closed. For dependability, distinctively, a huge choice of colors and designs always available, a very useful device even for non-smokers; there is nothing better out there, IMHO, than a Zippo! And yes, I always recommend them to my friends, even those who still insist on using those cheap, flimsy, will not work in very cold or wet weather plastic butane models. And yes, I will allow them to use my Zippo when theirs fail, which they do, often. ;-)
