In the winter i sleep with a heavy blanket and the heat blasted and it keeps me cool. In the summer I still sleep with a heavy blanket and it keeps me cool. We opted for the non-textured side. It didn't take long for it to fill in/"fluff up" after unrolling, but it did have an unpleasant chemical smell that disappeared after the first day or use. A few weeks in, it's still comfortable, but I am noticing that on my side it's not fluffing back up as much. It's still better than the uncomfortable mattress underneath, which we currently can't afford to replace.
