Webster's Spanish-English Dictionary for Students

Great resource to have. This is a newer version of what I'd already had. Book includes conjugation of the verbs and different tenses. Gives a variety of definitions, as well. Book arrived in great condifion. I recommend this book.

This is a pretty good dictionary, as a student it has helped me out quite a bit when I've needed it. It is a lot more comprehensive than the few copies of what my school has which I found too be too basic and lacking a lot of words. This book has pretty much everything you'd need to know and as a High School student I feel that it gets the job done. I think the $4 price point is great for this book as well. Overall, it's a good sized dictionary and it contains a lot of definitions. In all honesty, if you're searching for a basic beginning Spanish-English Dictionary, look no further. This is best book out there for the price no doubt.

I bought this dictionary for our son, who is taking Spanish I. The front section is Spanish-to-English, and the back section is English-to-Spanish. There are lists in the front of common verbs and conjugations in both languages. He's already used it to help with homework, and it's just what he needed when he isn't near the computer to use Google Translator. This is a really good price for a basic dictionary!

I agree that this is a very handy and useful book. I have the 9th printing from 8/2013 (called the 2013 edition on the copyright page) but it still doesn't use the new orthography rules of the Real Academia Española from 2010. Most importantly, this edition uses accents in one syllable words, contrary to the new rules. For example, guíón (screenplay, hyphen), rió (he laughed) etc. The accents that are used to make distinctions in meaning from the unaccented form, like in sí, qué, dé, etc, are still in use.

This is exactly what we needed. Not huge and bulky, not every single word in the language, but certainly complete and enough to get him started in middle school Spanish. Easy to read, words not crammed onto the page, easy to lookup words in both languages. Excellent purchase.

It's missing a lot of words that I look. It's ok for the price. Basic for starters and not for complex words.

This dictionary was for my nephew who is taking a spanish class, he really loves it, says it is a big help in his class. I found that price wise it was great, could not locate this in any of the big box stores for a convenience to pick up and take home, ordering from amazon helped with gas, and frustration of not finding it while out and about.

This is for a second grader's backpack. He's in a Spanish immersion program and needs to be able to work on his homework independently sometimes. This is a great help for him. The definitions are not too complex. The book itself is about the size of his pencil box. Not too big, but not so small that he'd constantly be losing it.

Muy básico, yo esperaba otra cosa. Escaso vocabulario. No es la primera vez que un diccionario M. Webster me decepciona.

Considering the borderline-trade-paperback footprint, this dictionary is too light on the coverage. Check out used bookstores, Goodwill, etc. I found two better paperback dictionaries at a fraction of the price.
