Sweet Tea Revenge - another winner
Always enjoy Laura Childs' Tea Shop Mysteries. Characters are believable; plots are interesting; and this is likely her best series.

Revenge is a dish best served cold...
Theodosia, the owner of the Indigo Tea Shop, had no idea that when she agreed to be maid of honor at her friend's wedding that she would find the groom dead before the nuptials could occur. Delaine, the bereft bride, is very needy and thinks nothing of guilting her friend into tasks that Theodosia would just as soon not do. To make matters worse, Delaine isn't very truthful or even that appreciative of all her friend has done for her.I liked this book which is #14 in a series but the first that I have read. I thought that it read well as a standalone. It is definitely a cozy style mystery. So people who enjoy cozies would probably enjoy this book. People who enjoy tea would also find many great references in the back of the book, along with recipes, and suggested themes for tea parties. The one reservation I had about the book was that I did not feel that there was enough support for the murderer in the rest of the book. There were lots of red herrings and then the in the last chapter the murderer is revealed by telling us that s/he (don't want to spoil it for you) committed the crime. I didn't think that it tracked very well or was supported by evidence.

Please sir, can I have another cuppa?
How to say I truly enjoyed this 14th book in the Indigo Tea Shop Mystery Series by Laura Childs without giving too much away. Let's just say, it is fast paced, it kept me engaged, and it is kicked off by an 'incident' the day of Delaine Dish's nuptials. All kinds of questions arise, and the usual cast of characters are involved with delicious recipe's throughout. My only question in all of this is, where in the world does Theodosia have time for a nice romance with Max the art dealer...would so like to see that thread drawn out more if our heroine can find the time. It amazes me at times that the oxygen is not sucked out of the room by her 'friend' Delaine...really, where is the quid pro quo in all of this. And Tidwell, isn't he the character, but always there to save the day along with her pals from the teashop! I finished this book in 2 1/2 days in between knitting and other activities..a good read that sped up at the very end to yet another satisfying conclusion, without a hint of the real whodunit.

Kept my Interest All The Way Through
Laura Childs' Tea Shop Mysteries is another one of my favorite series. I have read almost all of these (I think I have only missed a couple of the very beginning ones). This is another one of those novels that you get hooked on the characters and find that you just want to visit with them again and again. This story is about Theodosia's (she owns the Indogo Tea Room) friend Delaine and the marriage that almost was. In this story, Delaine Dish is getting married to her lawyer boyfriend but he does not show up to the wedding because someone bumped him off. I did find that there was a loose end or two within the story that never really got tied up but overall the story was suspenseful and had enough human interest that it made you keep reading until you finally figured out who did it. Although I was not really surprised by the culprit, it did make a great story. I also love all the recipes and the information about various types of tea parties that one can create. Honestly, I can't wait for the next installment. If you like a lot of details, some good human interest, and reading about some great tea menus, this is the book for you!

A Different Approach
This novel is the 14th in this wonderful series. The focus of this edition was the coming wedding of Delaine Dish, an acquaintance/friend of Theodosia Browning, the owner and manager of 'Indigo Tea Shop' in Charleston, South Carolina. The opening of the novel is set in an almost gothic scene. There is a storm raging, the Bride's sister and flowers are late, and the setting is a shabby, dark, inn named appropriately, Ravencrest. So, the reader is not surprised when tragedy stops the wedding. This book was written from the viewpoint of Theodosia, Delaine, and Inspector Tidwell. I must admit, I missed the casual, yet formal, friendship and co-operation of her usual friends, Drayton, and Hayley. Even Max, Theodosia's new boyfriend only had a cameo shot in this novel. This book felt like a stand alone and not one in the series. It was predictable and I kept wanting another clue to appear. I did enjoy Drayton's voyage into the world of ghost hunting and would love to see that theme explored more fully.Ms. Childs remains a favorite author and I look forward to her next novel.

Theo is on hand for yet another murder
This book will keep you guessing until the last chapters - and Poor Delaney, will Theo's friend ever have a happy ending? If you are fairly new to mystery novels, this is good book series to read - it keeps the brain churning

Disappointing
Usually I love this series of books but this time the characters have undergone such character transformations. Theodosia is quite unbelievable - when did she become a detective, and when did Drayton actively encourage her? It is as though someone else has written the book, the whole flow is different...
