8 Seconds

I remember seeing 8 Seconds (1994) the first time and thinking how great Luke Perry was as a cowboy. All these years later and I’m still happy to spend time watching these guys cowboy up in the rodeo arena, taking on the biggest baddest bulls. It’s a nice time for us to revisit Lane Frost and the boys with this steaming version. When Amazon had it on special I grabbed it. I’ve like Bull Riding for as long as I can remember, so these up close rides are great, but it’s the story between Lane and his buddies and wife that make this film interesting. It is also Lane Frost taking on the biggest and baddest, sometimes winning, and one time, loosing it all. If you’re a bull riding fan, this is a must-watch film, and if you’re not, it’s still a good film. Luke Perry as Lane Frost is great, showing a nice guy who doesn’t live up to expectations as he wants to, but always steps up to take on the bull. In the end, Lane Frost was... I’ll let you find out. But this is a good movie with lots of heart and action. One I’ll enjoy time and again.

I ordered this movie for Christmas for my Granddaughter who had it on their wish list. Package arrived promptly but I was very skeptical when I actually handled the DVD. It had the clear wrap and a sticker with a bar code that said NEW. The case was very light and flimsy and it felt like there wasn't a disk inside. I decided to go ahead and open it because it was to be a gift and It would stink to give her an empty case. The disk was there, and the flimsy box explained since most of center on both sides is cut out. I then noticed a few scratches on the disk. It was after I put the disk back in the case, I saw the "DISK MADE IN MEXICO" stamped on the back of the case. Nowhere in the product description does it say this is a knock off version. I could have ordered this DVD for a whole lot less and got a Studio Release version, but chose this seller because of expected delivery date. First time I have been disappointed in an order after several years of Amazon shopping.

I knew nothing about rodeo's and could not understand the passion to ride a bull that could very well end your career or life. Well, this movie changed all that. I have watched "8 Seconds" a few times and am glad it's in my library of video's so I can watch anytime. It to me is one of the most profound stories of a young boy who always wanted to ride bulls and be perfect for his father whom at one time was a rodeo sensational. He fell in love and married Kelly, a barrel rider. Kelly found herself neglecting her life dreams to devote herself to Lane's career.Infidelity played a role in them separating and Lane trying to please his parents with gifts a new home while she and him lived in a rather distasteful trailer. When Lane and Kelly settled their differences he bought a breath taking piece of land where he and Kelly would build their home and begin a family but Lane had one more ride and there is where my tears begin and continued right up until the end. It may seem like a simple story but it was told with such passion I get a lump in my throat just writing this review. Life is so short and you might never get to live out your dreams. I'd say for the most part Lane did if only his father could have said, "I love you"

This movie was an amazing rendition of the life and premature death of Lane Frost, the youngest bull rider to be put into the rodeo hall of fame. Even Lane's mother said Luke Perry did an amazing job portraying her son Lane. The movie is exciting, eventful, sad and heartfelt all in one. A must see!!

True story. This is a great movie 4 all. I wish they would make it on Blu-Ray. It honestly is a very good movie. It will make you 😢. 👍🏼

I’ve never seen this movie but once I did I cried. I loved it and thank you amazon for delivering in one piece despite things going on with covid.

this film is done so well and is a fitting tribute to one of, if not the greatest rodeo riders of all time, Lane Frost (Luke Perry, Beverley Hills 90210). The rodeo scenes are amazing and the story of Lanes struggles and triumphs are done so well that your with him for every second. This film moved me to tears and does so every time i watch it, although not the greatest fan of country music the sound track was perfect and kept the feel and emotion of the film going throughout. The end creidts with footage of the real Lane are beautiful, and the poems provided by cody are very emotional i especially love "Cowboy" This film is an absolute must see for everyone, i first saw it years ago and have hunted for it ever since, as a relative newbe to amazon i was extatic to find that they stock it, dont read any more buy it, watch it, and fall in love wih it, just as i have done. 5 stars just isnt enough!!!!

The only thing that stands out in this film if you know the story of Lane Frost is the outstanding protrayal of him by Luke Perry, however Stephen Baldwin acting as best friend Tuff Hedeman is awful & does spoil the film viewing

Very good story and fantastic potrayal of such an amazing rider. Yes there are some inaccuracies about Lane Frost, but overall a good watch. Would highly recommend
