Southwest Technologies LW203 Elasto-Gel Lumbar Wrap, Waist 36"-52" Large/XL

I bought this in s/m and l/xl because i have a very large girth. The s/m turned out to be perfect for me because the straps are so long that it can accommodate just about anyone. A man would have to be quite large to need the L/XL i think. I have no plans to return my L/XL because the coldpack itself is aittle bit larger than the s/m and works really well around my neck and shoulders as well as my lower back and tush. I even used it for my tennis elbow and it is so comfortable. I first bought this for an inflamed sacroiliac because it is the only item that goes far enough down my spine (below the waist) to get to the sacrum (?) region. I also love that it stays cold for so long (at least 45 minutes) without being uncomfortably cold such that it could damage my skin tissue. The only downside is that the fabric can get "picked" from the velcro strap and no matter how careful you are, it cannot be avoided. However picks in the fabric will not hurt its functionality so not a big deal. I loved this so much that i also bought a few other configurations of the wrap as well. Very happy.

I have had back issues on and off for several years. I've tried the stick on wraps and smaller heating or cooling pads but the Elasto-Gel Wrap is the first to cover the entire sore area - from mid-back down as well as around the hips. It secures easily around your waist and is adjustable for small to large frames.It can be heated or chilled for use. I tend to use the chill approach and the wrap stays cold for well over 20 minutes and stays close to the body while laying down, sitting or light movement around the house.It comes in a large plastic bag for easy storage in the freezer so it is always ready.Works as promised.

I bought this Back Wrap to use when my spinal stenosis acts up and my back hurts. It functioned as it should. It "iced" my back appropriately, kept cold in the freezer, and stayed put when I velcroed it on. My only criticisms (hence the 4 stars) are that it tended to "bunch up" but could be shaken out and smoothed out. It was also a bit of a challenge to velcro on as it was a bit bulky to stretch around my waist. I would recommend it for anyone who needs a cold back wrap.

The item arrived promptly and all packaging was in good shape.The product itself is wonderful. I bought two.What makes this product special?1. It does not harden when it freezes. It remains soft and pliable2. It is shaped to fit the body and is held in place by a soft Velcro closure so there is no reason you have to “hold” it in place.3. Because it is shaped it applies equal cold to all sides, no having to switch it around4. The cold is mild. There is no need to wrap a second layer over the ice gel in order to wear it comfortably5. Non-toxic, non-leak gelThe down side:1. More expensive than conventional ice packs2. Can’t get wet.

Recently I somehow severly wrenched my back to the point that it was in spasm so bad that I could hardly move at times.I tried everything including pills and massage but this is the one thing that seemed to relax the strained muscles the most.It is so intense a relaxation response in my muscles that I heat this up in the microwave and wrap it around me and within ten minutes it puts me to sleep. I can only use it at night for this reason but I sleep through the night like a baby when I use this. The moist heat is so much better than a heating pad. I wish it stayed warm longer than twenty minutes but usually since I fall asleep so fast in this it doesn't matter. If your back is in pain I strongly recommend this.

dont bother, this gel crumbles when you freeze it, you can shake it but it never goes back into the shape as advertised in picture , and cold only lasts 15 minutes.

I unfortunately (for me) have had 7 back surgery's pain is still a problem, medicine dulls it, but also dulls the senses! the back wrap helps me tremendously, without the drug reaction, I sit and watch TV and the wrap does it's thing without any interference, I highly recomend it, it is extremely well made, durable, and comfortable, one thing that I might add, it is not just for the back! I also use it on my left shoulder, for "bursitist" what also amazes me is, how long the gel, retains it's "cold" wonderful product!

Overall I like the back wrap and I would recommend it to those who need ice on the lower back. The velcro straps are a little clumsy, but not bad. No one is going to stand up and walk around with this thing on. It will fall off. That's OK though. It does what it should and is not TOO cold. Seems to last just about the right amount of time
