This is a good item to have when you are a wheel hair user. I am not able to stand properly so this item is useful when I sit on public commode ti give me some height to keep me from popping on commode be cause my knees and legs are very weak and when I end them I plop because lack of control and I don't hurt myself due to the thickness of this item. The only flaw is if the cushion is not put on commode correctly it will slide or move and cause me to hurt myself.

this may be just right for some..not for me... to me it is like sitting on a marshmellows..I only weight 109 lbs ands it quishes from about 4in to 2 ins and the straps that should hold it to the seat stick together to tightly it isVERY difficult prying them apart...to clean and sometimes need to put cover down... I never felt comfortable sitting down and getting up!!! I ordered a 4" to ease getting up and down however squished does not make for confidence for getting up and down without possibly slipping to floor.

This 2" high cushion is just enough in height to bring comfort and avoid heavy pressure behind the thighs, which like in my case can later stir up nerve pain in the leg. For a long while, my left leg would hurt so badly behind the thigh, nerve pain then going all the way down to my heel and foot. And nothing made the pain go away, including medication for nerve injuries. Then I noticed how I spend too much time on the throne (so not necessary), and that was causing pressure behind my left leg in particular, causing a lot of leg pain. I thought of how a padded cushion would help, went to Amazon and ordered this yesterday and it came overnight!! As I opened this review, I said that the 2" is sufficient. However, if you are heavier than 150 lbs, you might want the 4" high cushion, as to not flatten it completely. In just a half a day, it has proved to help reduce that nagging pain I had. A very helpful product for sure! Thank you to the company and the seller for making this a great price. From experience, I can say in some medical supply stores it would be twice this price.

This thing is soooo thick that it is actually funny to try and use. Cushion Yes. Practical NO. I am trying to give this review without being too graphic. It is so thick that when you go your poop it gains critical velocity and when there is splash down there is also splash up to your tukus. It was a surprise.

Edit: I think I may use this as a cushion for my work from home desk when I am more recovered. Since I am so tender after the surgery, this is not a practical option for the toilet or desk chair at this time. First, I figure I should identify that the product (I got the 4-inch cushion) just didn't fit my particular needs. IMO, that does not warrant a bad review. The 4 out of 5, is because I cannot return this unused item (though I get why they may not take it back). I would strongly recommend asking questions if you are not sure. I had to have my surgery the following day and didn't have enough time to do very thorough research. (Potential) PROS: - Much more firm than expected - Gives a lot of height if you are tall without discomfort - appeared to stay in place - Durable (well-made, doesn't seem to be flimsy) Cons: - non-returnable items - opening to the toilet is too small - did not flatten enough to feel confident I would not make a mess - doesn't seem practical for post-surgical use if you need a cushion This product just didn't work for my situation. I just had surgery where I needed something soft. I took a chance based off of others' reviews saying it squished down too much. That is what I was looking for. Unfortunately, as someone else mentioned, the opening to the toilet was too small. I felt like because I was not flat enough, I was going to urinate all over the seat and potentially get some on myself. This MAY work for a male who can possibly aim more strategically while sitting, but not sure how it's might work for bowel movements without making a huge mess. I needed something post-surgical, but this was not it for me. I

I read all the comments before purchasing concerning elongated seat fit -- be aware that this item is not 16 inches as advertised -- it's actually only 15 inches (and that's from tip of very top in the middle, to very bottom of sides. So using it on an elongated seat is going to be a n ongoing challenge. You'll need to add plenty of extra tie-downs all along the cushion to hold it in place, and stretch to a lot to widen the gap in very front. BUT -- don't let that stop you if you're seeking a very effective comfortable & inexpensive cushion. This wins 5 stars for the fact that 2 inches is totally perfect, the product is well-made, with no seams to interfere with comfort at all. For the money, it's a top-notch item. Just plan on coming up with several more ways to tie it down,( in addition to the Velcro it comes with) as you have to stretch it a lot for an elongated seat. I used old flat shoes laces -- perfect! (I always knew being a "semi-hoarder" would pay off eventually! Grin, grin)

UPDATE 2024 I purchased another 4" toilet cushion last week. This time the cushion has no support at all. It is useless since as soon as I sit on it it deflates completely. I weigh around 105 lbs so it is not a weight issue. I am trying to return this item and it is a major hassle. Normally you go thru amazon and it is fine. This time you need to go thru the company website and you can't even reach them by phone. Only email. I can not use this item. It is sad because the one I purchased a few tears ago was excellent and they have been great. But not this one. I am very disappointed in the cushion. This pillow topper for the elongated toilet has helped me to get rid of my horrible pain in my lower butt, and down my leg to the side of my calf. I could not walk for months. I thought it might be from spending so much time on the toilet seat last year. I had a very bad year of IBS and was on the toilet a lot. That is when the pains came on. I went to Dr's, PT, even got shots. Nothing helped. Finally decided in June to try using this pillow. What could I lose? It is now Sept, and 85% of the butt pain, the leg pain has gone away. I am able to walk and do things I have not done since a year ago. I will say I am getting a new one because I think the foam is getting a bit too soft, and I don't want to take a chance of putting pressure on my sciatic nerve again which might bring back the pain. I weight 104lbs so if someone is heavy, I don't know how long the pillow will last. I have no problem ordering a second or third one if I never get that pain back. Each person will have to make up their own mind. It certainly has helped me.

I work in assisted living so I am pretty much educated on senior safety products. I had knee surgery so I wanted to purchase one. I saw the cushioned, which I never tried. My residents have the hard seat. Although comfortable, this is dangerous for seniors. When you’re seated, it isn’t level and it feels so off. I do not recommend! I am going to purchase the one I should have from the beginning. A shame I can’t return, as I have used it. Waste of money

It's exactly as it looks and is very comfortable and very well built. also has a outside zipper so you can take off the cover and wash it. it's really good. I love it

I liked being able to sit on my toilet during cold winter days and nights.The seat is different from what is available in Australia where the seat is a complete oval. I tried it with the attached straps and found it hard to position it so as not to dirty it but decided to to use it WITHOUT the straps so as to get a "mess free" operation. The price including postage from the US was about $30 (Aus) than in Australia.
