Up the Creek (Life in the Wild, 4)

This is another in the great series "Life in the Wild" that provides in a colorfully illustrated book with lovable friends (the Bear, the Moose and the Beaver) a story about how sometimes to reach your goal you have to learn to work together as a team. However, with this group it takes some trial and error to get it done but finally they do. You need to check the illustrations out as they are excellent and well done. Humor is at the correct age level and the 4 years to whom the books were read loved it.

My preschool class loves this book! It’s a great book about what happens when you don’t work together and what happens when you do. It’s funny and shows the kids when you are choosing not to work together nothing gets accomplished. My class wants me to read this book all the time. They think it’s so funny.

I bought this book because of the topic of learning to work together for success AND because many of the illustrations were so funny!The grandkids find this book as entertaining as I did and want me to read it over and over. Check this one out.

I absolutely adore this book. I saw this book at the book store in Banff, Alberta and immediately ordered it when we got back to the hotel room. I would have purchased it from the book store but I didn't want to have the added weight in my luggage. So much could be done with it - conflict resolution, idea building, etc. I am a teacher/librarian and will definitely use it in the classroom but I actually wanted it for my future grandchildren :).

Great book for primary aged pupils to look at collaboration. Short and simple but with a great message about working together.

Illustration is really engaging for young children and a great story to share the value of team work.
